I'm So Excited -The Great Catsby is Getting a Glow-Up! 😻✨

It’s been over 7 years since I opened (I know, time flies when you're having fun?!), so I thought it was time for a little refresh!

I’ve been sneaking in updates here and there whenever the rooms are empty (for more than a day). It’s been a labour of love, but by the end of this month, each room will be finished! 🎉 Fingers crossed the rest of my testers give their room the paws up! 🐾🤞

You know me—your cat's happiness is always my number one priority. And over the years I’ve been watching how different cats use the scratch posts and ladders, and based on their feedback (aka lots of kitty antics), I’m adding more shelves and platforms to the wall to keep them climbing, jumping, and exploring. The scratch posts are still here (because they're always a favourite 😸), but they’ve been moved around for some extra fun!

The family rooms, which can have up to four cats from the same family, will have more spots for all the cats to enjoy the activity walls together—so no one will miss out. And for the standard rooms, there’s plenty to keep two cats busy... or if it's just one cat they'll now have lots of options to explore on their own!

This whole glow-up is all about making sure your kitty feels happy, and right at home! ❤️

Gary and Steve have been kind enough to test out one of the family rooms for me! They didn't waste any time working out how to get from one end of the room to the other without stepping on the floor! Trying to get them to sit still and pose was actually harder than putting the room together🐱✨

Hello there👋🏻

I'm excited to announce that there's been a lot of work behind the scenes to upgrade the current booking system.

✨Why the change?
After listening to feedback I wanted a more seamless booking process with an interactive diary so that you can instantly check availability. The new system also gives you the option to receive video updates (not just photos), and even SMS text reminders. Ultimately, the change is to make your whole experience smoother and more enjoyable.

✨What does it mean for you?
- Once registered on the new system you'll be able to update your details, check 2024 availability, make bookings and more.
- Like before you'll still receive updates while you're away, although they'll be called postcards which I'll email to you - and they can now be videos if you prefer!
- Vaccination certificates can be directly uploaded into your account to save you time
- There is the ability to add any extras directly onto your booking.

✨How do I register?
You will receive a registration link from me to the email address I have on file. If you no longer want to hear from The Great Catsby then ignore this email. But if you want to stay in touch please click the link in the email.

At the moment, all customers with an upcoming booking should have received the registration email. Please check your spam/junk folder if you haven't seen it yet.

By the end of this week all remaining customers, whose cats have stayed within the last 3 years will have received their registration email. If you haven't seen it and think you should have had one drop me an email or WhatsApp next week and I'll resend it.

If you've shown an interest in the 2024 diary opening, and I have availability for the dates requested I'll send you the registration link by the end of this week, in case you want to make a booking.

Keep your eyes posted and check your spam/junk folders for the registration email.

There are a few things that I have been working on behind the scenes to make things easier for everyone.

Firstly, I have a new number. This only works with WhatsApp but you can ring me or send me a message (through WhatsApp!) I've been testing it out and I'm very excited as it enables me to do so much more than my personal WhatsApp. Plus there's no danger of me pocket-calling a customer whilst they're away and making them panic 😲 (true story)!

This WhatsApp number means that I can direct all messages (hopefully) through one channel instead of Facebook messenger, Instagram messenger, texts personal and business numbers, personal WhatsApp, emails, voicemail, and so on! This means that I will ultimately be able to spend more time with cats.

I will monitor the WhatsApp number between 10-4 every day along with email but I'm stepping away from my personal number and Instagram/Facebook messages (we don't really mix anyway 🤣).

My new contact number is WhatsApp 01257 444901, add it to your contact list (as CatsbyWhatsApp or something similar) if you want to get in touch. But please remember it will only make calls or messages through WhatsApp. Hopefully, it will work as planned 🤞but any problems please let me know.

Secondly, after a few tech-savvy customers suggested it I now finally have a contactless card machine so you can tap or swipe to make a payment. I won't be asking you to read out the long card numbers anymore😴.

Also, after a number of problems with people not being able to fill in the online booker properly to secure their dates or people filling it in, making a request for dates then ghosting me, leaving me to chase up deposits and turn others away I've decided to remove the online booker for the time being😲

All requests, including for 2023 will go through me (...send me a WhatsApp if you want to know how😉). Now there shouldn't be any spam boxes to contend with and I won't be able to miss any requests as they'll all be in one place🏆.

And finally, as I said before WhatsApp will now make it easier for me to share cancellations/last-minute availability, send out reminders about your upcoming stays, and other stuff you might be interested in relating to The Great Catsby. But in order for me to do that I need your consent, so drop me a message via WhatsApp and I'll show you how. And I promise I won't spam...those who know me know that they rarely hear from me 🙈🤣

Although with the current situation with airlines it could and has been changing.

If there are any cancellations I always check the waiting list first and contact those who asked for the dates.

Happy 5th birthday to me 🥳🥳

Can you believe it, The Great Catsby is 5 and it’s absolutely flown by!

The last 5 years have been a whirlwind, I've gained 2 extra cats of my own and lost my shadow and the reason I started The Great Catsby. I've had the pandemic to contend with and met hundreds and hundreds of gorgeous cats!

I've been featured in local and national newspapers, Talk Radio with Paul Ross and more recently I was on The Gadget Show with Craig Charles testing out an automatic feeder with my own cats plus one of my guests got in the show too!

And I can't forget my amazing customers for keeping me busy and the hundreds of 5* reviews. It’s been quite the journey, and not one I ever expected when I first set out.

But I’m so grateful you’re all here supporting me along the way and I can't wait to see what the next 5 years bring.

I own The Great Catsby Cat Hotel which is not linked in any way to any other luxury cat hotel.

For the record, since yesterday I've had several strange messages, vile emails and negative Google reviews regarding a horrible video that's circulating on social media.

I've reported the emails and reviews as I have no connection to the people involved yet somehow, because we both own a cattery, I'm being targeted too as those involved also own a cattery.

I will not allow the actions of anyone to ruin the reputation I've built over the last 5 years. The video in question is horrendous and I sympathize with those affected by it. But I will continue to report anything related to this as I'm being wrongly linked to it.

The video has nothing to do with me nor my business!!

🐈 The next available dates I have (although they are very limited) are in September/October 2022

🐈 I do have a waiting list in case there are any cancellations or changes to bookings. I am getting cancellations for school holidays as some were originally booked in 2019 for 2020 and have been moved over each year. These cancellations have gone straight to those on the waiting list.

🐈 I'm not yet taking bookings beyond December 2022, next year's diary will open later in the year. But you can always go on the waiting list if you already have your dates, visit bit.ly/TGCenquiry
