Justine Rumney Horses Modern, Progressive, Horse Centred Horesmanship This can help with young horses, behavioural issues and performance enhancement.
(28)

I teach a modern, progressive form of horsemanship that places the horse at the centre of your learning experience. Horses taken for starting, the first riding experience; foundation, progressing into a solid basis for a working life; and re-starting, fixing up missing elements of an education that has not left a horse with the skills it needs to be safe and confident in the human world. I am comm

itted to giving everything I can to each horse I meet, whether that be a horse I buy for resale, one sent to me for work or a horse in a lesson. I aim to leave that horse better equipped for the world that they live in than I found them.

Ted is a 2003 unregistered Fell pony gelding. He is great to do in all ways, a funny and friendly little soul. He rides out alone or in company, is great in traffic, and you can easily do a gate from onboard. He hacks calmly at the beach or the fells, has been ridden many times as a lead rein pony and taken part in equine therapy sessions where he is calm and responsive.

Finally got the first horses turned out on the summer paddocks, and a fitting on the water tank has blown! Why is nothing simple?! Right, search for a fitting and find someone to fit it..... 🤣

FRESH CARROTS ARE LOW IN SUGAR

I've posted about this before, but it is worth repeating 🥕🥕🥕

Carrots - as they are fed to the horse, in a fresh state - are NOT high in sugar or NSC (non-structural carbohydrates). Fresh carrots are - by official human food definition - a low sugar food at less than 5% sugar.

Carrots are around 80% water, so any sugar in them is diluted i.e. they are mostly water.

Grass hay is around 8% sugar as fed, so one medium carrot gives your horse about 3g of sugar, whereas one slice of hay gives your horse about 80g of sugar.

When considering what you feed your horse, if you think scientifically i.e. in a systematic and methodical manner rather than just assuming common beliefs are true, you'll do yourself and your horse a big favour.

Please help me spread the truth by sharing! 🥕🍏🐴

I’m planning a ‘foundation of riding’ series. This will look at the fundamental blocks of riding that will allow you to advance whatever your preferred discipline. Regardless of skill and experience level you and your horse are at you can make profound changes by understanding and adjusting the underlying foundation. Details to follow.

Ok, that was not a great start to 2021, but at least now we can have sone hope for the rest of the year. So, my interpretation of the roadmap out of lockdown is that from the 8 March I will be able to travel to you to for one-to-one lessons where you keep your horse. This is based on my ability to travel for work and relaxation of restrictions to allow two people to socialise outdoors. If you would like a session message me or call/text on 07866742190.
From 29 March I will start up the series of monthly groundwork sessions, date and venue to be confirmed very soon. In addition I am planning a series of ‘foundation ridden skills’ sessions, which I will also run monthly. I hope I will see you soon and we can look forward to a safe, healthy summer TOGETHER 😊
