Ria smashing her loose lead walking!!
Daisy has had quite the day!! She had a fabulous play session with Woody, but he wouldn’t stay still long enough for her to catch him 😊
Ria doing some fantastic close work. And look at that loose lead walking!! 😀🩷#germanshepherd #looseleadwalking
A little video about how our responses to potential triggers can have a huge impact on our dogs. Try the test at the end and see what happens with your dog 😊
I am beyond proud of this girl today! Coco started out as an unhabituated girl having spent her life in a crate in a darkened room as a breeding female before being rescued and rehomed by her new Mum & Dad. Coco had never experienced traffic, dogs, kids, tractors (and many more) and her responses to HGV’s and tractors involved lunging and barking. A programme of measured exposure, and this was Coco today!! A bit more work to be done, but I am thrilled with Coco’s progress 🩷😊
It was Ellie’s 4th birthday today, and so Sophie, Daisy and I had a little party and we were joined later by the gorgeous Maddie. We played lots of party games including a speed race and as you can see, Ellie got a head start, but it was her birthday 😀🎁🎈🎊

One of the main issues that I am asked to help with is reactive type behaviours, and the other one is loose lead walking. Guardians really struggle with their dogs pulling them on the lead and usually have tried all the methods that they read online (stopping, turning around etc) but nothing works. What we need as humans to understand is that walking on a loose lead is a skill, and that skill must be learned and practiced to perfect it. It does not come naturally to dogs to walk next to us, and we need to be patient and consistent in order to teach it. Here is Ria, a German Shepherd walking on a loose lead, and doing beautifully. Yes, she is on a harness (and no, they don’t cause pulling) no corections, slip lead, stim collar, choke chain or prong collar. Just good old fashioned positive reinforcement at its best! 😊🩷
