Sweet boy Gordon has had his x-rays and they were sent off to a specialist

The outcome is that he has broken his leg, and it’s bad

The leg has tried to heal but it’s not healed fully and not in the right place

all in all it’s a bit of a mess!

It is a complicated situation with several options

There is an option to leave it how it is, let it fully heal in the position it’s in, and accept that he has to live with a pretty useless leg and potentially not be fully comfortable on it even when healed

Another option is to amputate the leg straight away

The last option is to attempt to re break the leg and pin the leg in an attempt to straighten it , this may mean Gordon could have a more “normal life” on 4 legs

This however means a recovery time after that will need dedicated fosters/ owners willing to help him on his journey to recovery

Gordon is looking for a foster/ adopter ( please message the page if your in a position to help)

There are no guarantees that it will be a success, it comes with risks, risks which could end in amputation ( worst case)

but…. there’s a good chance he could be a lot more comfortable and have a straighter more useful leg!

so it’s been a big decision and a lot to think about….

but we have high hopes that this operation could work!

obviously the operation comes with a big cost ! £2750

If this can be raised by the operation can be done

(open to any fundraising ideas)

We will be raffling a 4 night break in Cornwall, in a beautiful cottage that sleeps up to 4 people and 2 doggies!

One of our extremely kind supporters “Ianthe” has offered the use of her cottage just to raise funds for Gordon which is incredible!

so please buy a ticket ( or share the post when it’s posted)

if you have any fundraising ideas that you think may help please feel free to go ahead and fundraise yourself !
or message the page with your ideas!

let’s give Gordon the life he deserves!

Thank you all for your amazing support!

Can anybody Fix Nellie’s broken 💔

Poor Nellie is a dog that just can’t catch a break 😞 she has the worst luck in the world

she has found herself back in kennels for the third time

This is just so awful for her and so confusing, she is not even 2 years old

This poor girl has been let down time and time again and she’s not done a thing wrong

Nellie was originally adopted last year and was originally called “Narla “ , she was very happy and everything was going well, but sadly the dog she was re homed with became very jealous as time went on meaning Nellie had to return for her own safety

Nellie has several surgeries on her cherry eye and it’s failed each time

She had a double cherry eye repair operation 6 months ago and one eye was successful and one eye is very stubborn and keeps popping out!

Nellie then found another home where she stayed for 6 months and was re named “Nellie”, she thought this was home 😞

she had a second repair done and sadly this failed again, her adopter decided because the cherry eye popped back out they couldn’t keep her as they were not prepared to get the eye repaired ,so she returned for a second time

Nellie then went to a foster home with view to adopt , it was all going brilliantly and they loved her, but after the eye popped out a third time after a third surgery they decided it wasn’t something they could deal with going forward and despite her settling and really thinking she was home, they returned her 😞

Nellie doesn’t know if she’s coming or going , she is not even 2 years old

we are so desperate for some stability for her and a family that just love her for who she is and accepts that this will eventually be fixed, she is now seeing a specialist to see what the next steps are for trying to sort this

It is exhausting trying to match the dogs with the right homes, and we try and do the best job we can, but clearly for Narla we just haven’t found her people yet , people that love her enough to stick by her

Narla is a mastiff x Bulldog

She is 16 months old

She came in as a puppy and has only known disruption in her life 😞 and people letting her down

She can live with children aged 9 and over ( due to her bouncy and playful nature)

she would benefit from living with another dog as she loves to play but equally could be an only dog

she loves water and swimming!

she is brilliant off lead , can be strong and excitable on lead at times

needs further training as she’s like and overgrown puppy and doesn’t know what is expected of her

is housetrained

travels in the car well

Nellie really is a dog that will love you forever if you just give her a chance

The eye treatment has all so far been funded by the rescue and has been a huge financial burden but we are determined to sort this for her and find her the life she so deserves

the next step is to see a specialist

please share for Nellie, she desperately deserves some stability and to be out of kennels

please note we are looking for a permanent home not a foster, this next home really needs to be her last

This month has been a very expensive month!

We managed to raise the funds for W***ys eye operation which was absolutely fantastic! 🎉

We had another cherry eye operation this week and multiple spays/ castrations ( these have been funded by adoption fees)

We are running so very thin on the ground this month for funds and still have an x ray which is desperately needed for Gordon to determine the best course of action for his poor leg 😞

He also needs castrating

we are trying to raise £600

please if you can spare anything , however little it will help so much

please either donate directly or o Dumbeldore vets by calling 01202 070249 and quoting “Gordon”

or paypal

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support, EVERY penny goes towards vets bills

without the supporters these dogs simply couldn’t be saved

Thank you infinitely to his fosters Laura and Liv who have worked tirelessly to post him all over the internet to find him the perfect home, and for keeping him safe after his operation! Thank you to Liz who fostered him before his operation! Rescue is a huge joint effort! and it’s so worth it! W***y ( now Hank) will return in a couple of weeks for castration. Please can everybody share for “Big Vince”

He is at Ashley Health RSPCA and has been waiting for his home for too long

He may look big and a little scary because of his facial injuries , but he a big softie !

he identifies as a lap dog and doesn’t realise his size

he would love a home to call his own!

he’s very responsive to training, needs a home with a enclosed garden

He Can live with children 11 plus (only due to his size)

Please share and share away for this boy and get him noticed

Large black dogs are at a immediate disadvantage as they aren’t “cute and cuddly”

but this boy has enough cuddles for everybody!!
