** PEMBROKE STUD RIDDEN ID CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 **

Wessex Horse Show is hugely indebted to Helena Davies and the Pembroke Stud for their continuing sponsorship of the Pembroke Stud Southern Region Ridden Irish Draught Championship for 2025.

Qualification comes from being placed in the top three in a ridden pure bred ID class in the southern region shows. With a Championship prize of £250 and Reserve prize of £100, plus fantastic trophies and sash, this truly is well worth the journey for a great weekend in Somerset. Great show venue, with overnight and day stabling, all rings on a surface, great clubhouse, café, shop.

List of early qualifying horses for the championship is below. Please nudge folk you know who may not be regular users of this FB page.

IDHS(GB) WINTER ON-LINE DRESSAGE SERIES

Please see details below for the first of our winter on-line dressage competitions:

• Submission dates: December 15, February 15, March 15
• Prize for overall series winner across the 3 competitions
• Rosettes to 4th Place
• Prize money to 3rd place (dependant on no. of entries)
• Prize for riders aged 14-21

** 2025 SHOW SPONSORSHIP PLEDGES **

With the planning for the show well under way, we are now looking for show sponsorship pledges for Wessex Horse Show 2025.

It's not a cheap event to put on (with venue hire, first aid, catering, rosettes, sashes, silverware and prizes) and in order to continue providing competitors with a great day out, we need your help via sponsorship.

Full class listing will follow shortly, but opportunities to sponsor rings, championships and classes will be very similar to the 2024 show. It's a great way to get your name / company name some fantastic publicity via the schedule which will be shared widely on FB, Equo and NFED.

** THANK YOU **

With the clear up and post show admin coming to an end, it is time to say a huge thank you to my fantastic support team at Wessex Horse Show last Sunday - you are a top team, and running a show like Wessex without your help would be impossible.

My team keep things ticking over beautifully and work with huge energy and enthusiasm, always with a smile on their faces, and it is so lovely to receive messages from competitors complimenting the efforts of the show team on the day - so please know that it is not just me who is grateful.

Secretarial Unit: Cathie Graham and Sarah Broughton with Tom Graham doing every job in between! Yes, I will be checking my little red book to see what I need to sort for next year...thanks, ladies 😳

Commentary Unit: Tim Gibson and Penny Reynolds - efficiency personified in that box!!

Trophy Team: Emma and William Emslie - super job!

Steward Team: Alice Gould, Nigel Payne, Bernie Murray, Dannie Williams, Heather and Graham Chaplin, Ros Steward, Georgie and Sarah Lucas, Emma Knight and Sarah Trott, David Caldwell and Sean.....all carrying out their roles superbly in the variety of weather conditions that come to Chard , usually four seasons in one day....it was certainly cold, foggy, damp and windy in the morning, followed by the hottest afternoon of the year.

Huge thanks to the team at Chard Equestrian for providing a beautiful venue, great stabling and Emma's fantastic cafe. Please pass my thanks to your arena girl who did a great job, and to Mike the security man, who let competitors in and out at unusual hours and came to let me back into the clubhouse when I'd got locked out!
