✨Blind dogs have fun too
we even adapt to things that are new
We Don’t need eyes
We see with our heart
That’s because we’re pretty smart
I Love to give kisses
Big hugs too
Eyes aren’t needed
To love you through and through 🩷✨
Blues story 💫
Blue hasn’t had the best start in life after being abandoned due to being blind and scared of what his future will be- worried if he would ever be loved again?🥺
luckily we saved Blue and have all fallen in love with him! his future is looking bright and full of hope 🌸
Our gorgeous boy Blue has undergone surgery yesterday to have both his eyes removed, this was an hard decision but after several appointments with a specialist vet we decided it was the best and kindest thing to do .
This is a quite a common genetic disorder in Akitas called Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), which results in eventual blindness.
Since blue has returned he already appears a lot happier, pain free and his tail is still wagging with joy!
We are looking for a foster home with hopefully the view to adopt 🤞for Blue where he can relax and recover after this big change and begin to adapt and feel comfortable in an environment he can call his own 🙂
Other than his eye condition Blue is a healthy jolly dog who can still lead a joyful and fulfilling life with support and guidance on his new journey.
If you have room in your heart and home to support our courageous, intelligent, friendly teddy bear through his next chapter in his life and be the guide he needs, please message us for further information and tips on helping him settle whilst he adjusts🐶
We have been asked about help with his treatment costs and whilst this is not a begging post if you would like to contribute to blues surgery please do call Bruton vets on 01749 813291 and any thing you would like to pledge please ask them to Put it on Somerset and dorset animal rescues account. 🙏thankyou in advance to those who do
Please see our comments to see Blue enjoying the sunshine on his morning walk🌞
