๐ชฑWatch out, thereโs Haemonchus about!๐ชฑ
In recent weeks we have seen several cases of Haemonchus in sheep flocks across the practice area. True confirmation of disease can only come from post-mortem or lab staining of WEC samples, but there are classic signs you may see.

Puffy faces, bottle jaw, pale mucous membranes, individuals lagging behind the group when moving, collapse and death.
Haemonchus doesnโt cause scours, and is seen in ewes as well as lambs.
Regular WECs and checking mucous membrane colour can help you monitor for the worm in your flock.
There are narrow-spectrum treatments available for Haemonchus, to avoid promoting development of resistant worms by using broad-spectrum wormers.
The team are here to discuss worm control in your flock, just give us a call!
