We had a little social event last night, not all of the team could make it unfortunately but those who could had a great time.

We had a lovely walk down to Millerground and came back to the practice to be greeted by Under Loughrigg Snack Box and some delicious treats!

Two naughty Spinone’s in crime on the Great kibble heist🚔

They each broke into some kibble at home and gorged themselves causing very sore bloated belly’s and were induced to vomit 🤮 (thankfully our Nurses were there to hold their ears back)! They are now home after having some sleepy cuddles with Alisha and Molly 🩷

Everyone meet Basil!❤

Basil is a very handsome Korthals Griffon, who came to visit us about a sore paw! He has had his bandage removed and is doing well, we cant wait to see him for is final check up. He was a very brave boy.🌟

Well today has certainly been a cat day! We started at 8.30am heading to Sedbergh to help out with getting a cat to Farmgate Veterinary Surgery - Sedbergh who’s owner was struggling to get in a basket. They also asked us for help re homing the kittens so we picked them up at the same time. (Pictures below and will be on our web site tomorrow)
Second stop was collecting a kitten who has been on foster to take to the vets for vaccinations.
Thirdly we picked up an un neutered male cat who’s owner had taken the hard decision to relinquish him to us for re homing. Big thanks to our vets Oakhill Veterinary Group who are always fantastic for accommodating a few more 4 legged friends today 🙈
Lastly at the weekend we were alerted to a cat in Kendal with an injury to his face, thanks to our volunteer and a cat trap he was caught this morning and taken to Highgate Vets for treatment which we funded.

Recently Louie came in for some dental work. He had 2 extractions and a scale and polish. He’s the perfect patient for his post operative check! What a superstar Louie. He’s recovering very well 🐱

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly, well-established RCVS accredited mixed veterinary practice in Windermere in the heart of the Lake District.

We have an experienced, hardworking, compassionate, supportive team of RVNs who work to a very high standard. They work alongside a team of 10 dedicated, knowledgeable Veterinary Surgeons with four certificates in specialist areas.

The practice is modern with well-equipped facilities and equipment. Nursing duties are predominantly small animal and we carry out regular referral work in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. We are an approved training practice and a feline friendly practice with a dedicated cat ward and waiting area. On site we have our Animal Rehabilitation Centre (ARC). The ARC offers physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and laser therapy.

The role offers a good variety of nursing duties including theatre nursing, inpatient care, nurse consultations, lab work, radiography, and dental care.

▪️Salary package - £26,000-£30,000 (DOE) per annum (full time) including 1 in 4 Saturdays and 1 night a week on call from home
▪️Full or part-time position considered.
▪️6 weeks holiday per annum (including bank holidays) plus opportunity to buy or sell extra days.

🐱MISSING PET SCAM 🐶

It has been brought to our attention there is a scam going round following missing pet posts. A telephone scammer has been contacting veterinary clients claiming that they have got their missing pet and require payment for its treatment over the phone prior to collection.

If you receive one of these calls, please hang up immediately and contact your vet practice. Please note we would never request payment over the phone for any found pet.

Unfortunately we have had a deceased adult ginger and white male cat brought to the practice on Friday 31st May. He was found near Craig Walk, Windermere.

We have also had a deceased tortoiseshell cat found on Rayrigg Road on Sunday 2nd June.

Please contact us if you are concerned these may be your missing cats. Please remember it is now a legal requirement to have your cat microchipped. It is also important to keep all microchip details up to date.
