The Kennel Club recognises 223 breeds of dog, so it’s true to say that there is a breed of dog suitable for every situation.

We woke up to a covering of snow here in Buckinghamshire this morning, and it made us think of Gus, an Alaskan Malamute who came for a ShutterDog photo shoot on a warm August day!

Malamutes were bred by nomadic Inuits who used the breed for pulling heavy loads over long distances. They are recognised as the very strongest of all sled dogs. Their double coat means that they are equipped to survive in the harshest of environments and even the insides of their ears are furred. Gus was only a puppy at the time of his shoot, but was already carrying his tail like a waving plume, a hallmark of this magnificent breed. I’m sure that he would have enjoyed his snowy walk this morning.

All this and brains too!
We were delighted to enjoy a shoot earlier this year with the stunning Border Collie Blu.
Border Collies regularly top the list of the most intelligent dog breeds, and a Border Collie called Chaser, owner by an American professor, gained worldwide acclaim by learning the meaning of over 1000 words.
Blu was clearly highly intelligent and posed beautifully. Brains and good looks – a heady combination!

Howdy Pardner!

Dogs played an important role in the life of cowboys, helping them to herd cattle. Have you heard of the Cowboy Corgi ? (Australian Cattle Dog crossed with the Pembroke Welsh Corgi).

Other popular breeds with cowboys included the Border Collie, Australian Shepherd and the Australian Cattle Dog.

Labradoodles do not get a mention- we think however that Max rocked the Cowboy look at his ShutterDog photo shoot.

CUSTOMER REVIEW ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
We have had a photo shoot with ShutterDog photography before. This time we wanted some pictures of me, Shirley and Kyra our Portuguese dog.
The experience was amazing and there was no hard sell.
We just loved the photos so much that we bought them all with no persuasion at all. Thank you Ruth and Chris for your beautiful photography.
