'Sorry about the mud'

A couple of people said this in last night's clinic about a little bit of a muddy hock. My reply, id rather see a bit of mud because the horse has been allowed to be a horse, than a spotless horse that never gets to see a field.

I'm certainly not disregarding good care and grooming, but as long as the horse is comfortable in their tack, feet picked out, and a quick brush; a bit of mud during a dark winter evening clinic will never be a problem to me. A relaxed happy horse and rider are far more trainable than ones that have stressed themselves out trying to get a spotless horse.

There are some people that insist on good presentation. I insist on happy horses.
Winter can be tough enough. Turnout πŸŒΏπŸ’© beats Turnout 🌟

The current state of my own horse... 🫣
