Little baby Liv had her first visit to the salon this week. I could have took her home with me 😊 loved having her in to groom 💜 so confident, sweet and the happiest wee wriggly bum 😂

There has been an incident this morning which has resulted in alot of smashed glass in close proximity to the shop. It has now been cleared but please be mindful of this when bringing your dog into the shop or if your walking your dog along this part of the Main Street as small bits of glass may still be on the pavement

I am now officially on maternity leave 💜 time for feet up and patiently waiting on the little ones arrival (hopefully not too long away 🙈)

Following on from my post last week about us having a baby on the way, just a wee update on appointments!

At the moment I am hoping to work for as long as possible, my diary is open until 25th June however this is pretty close to due date and therefore June appointments are at risk of short notice cancellation but I will always try my best to be at work and keep your appointments in place. Given how unpredictable pregnancy can be I just don't know how I will be further on and there is always the possibility of being given doctors orders of strict rest forcing me to stop working earlier than planned so please bear this in mind.

I will continue to assess what workload I can manage and what dogs I am capable of doing. I will always give as much notice as possible if appointments have to be cancelled/re-arranged.

Current availability is as follows:

April - FULLY BOOKED
May - VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY
June - VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY

If your not booked in please do so ASAP to avoid disappointment

I plan to return full time to work January 2023, possibly sooner but will update later in the year on this.

Some good advice for some your older pets or any with joint issues through the cold weather

While the snow is lovely to look at we need to remember to keep our furry friends nice and warm!

Cold joints get stiff and sore. If your dog has arthritis it tends to be worse over winter when it's cold. By keeping your dog warm you can help to alleviate some of the pain of arthritis.
When cartilage between your dog’s joints degrades, this can cause painful swelling and stiffness. The simple act of moving often becomes unbearable. Arthritis is more common in senior dogs, but it can affect dogs of all breeds and ages. So to reduce pain and help your dog feel more comfortable, here are a few steps you can take as those temperatures drop.

Providing warmth is one of the most important things you can do for your dog inside and outside the home. Ensure your dog has a warm bed with extra blankets they can snuggle up under. It may also help to move their bed nearer to the radiator, but not too close that they’ll burn themselves🥵.

You can manage your dog’s joint pain on walks by providing a warm doggy jacket. Dog coats come in a range of sizes and include waterproof and windproof options. Look for options that cover the tummy too, rather than just fasteners that might prove draughty. Don’t keep them outdoors in the cold for too long. Coats do not protect dogs from frostbites on ears, nose, tail, and paws.

No matter the weather, your arthritic dog needs exercise throughout the winter to keep joints lubricated and moving. Keep it low-impact and don’t over do it: take them on easy walks multiple times a day. Keep in mind that slippery ice and snow are particularly tough on the joints of arthritic dogs, so only walk on cleared paths. If the weather is too harsh to be outside, get your dog up to play and encourage them to move around the house.

Since the cold temperatures might be making it hard for your pooch to move, especially overnight, try to warm them up by providing a pet-safe heated blanket or heating pad for them to sleep on. The little extra warmth may encourage your dog to get up and move first thing in the morning! A warm towel over a radiator to dry your dog after their walk or a heat pad/hottie to drape across sore joints will come as a welcome relief.

This cute little muffins name is Cherry 🍒

She was a rescue dog and last week arrived at her new forever home where she has settled in very well. Such a gentle, beautiful wee soul 💜 she couldn't have found anywhere more loving than the home she has landed in, always so nice to hear of such happy endings for wee rescues like herself 💟
