Dog Star Training

Dog Star Training is not running any weekly classes after the 14th December as Cherryl retires. We have been running classes for 25 years and will miss seeing clients and dogs each week. The number of dogs and clients we have helped over the years is huge and we have loved meeting people their pets, and guiding guardians to train their much loved dogs in a kind, fair way using humane, effective methods.
We will continue with our walks and workshops and recommend that clients who would like to continue weekly training look for an ABTC registered trainer www.abtc.org.uk
We hope to see you on our Boxing Day and New Year’s Day walks.

The Animal Behaviour and Training Council sets and maintains standards of knowledge and practical skills needed to be an animal trainer, training instructor or animal behaviour therapist and maintains the national Register of appropriately assessed practitioners.

Back to school next week for most so try to help your dog cope with the quiet times during the day with plenty training, enrichment through activity feeding toys like Kongs, Lickimats and snuffle mats. Daily walks will also be important in the coming weeks. Try to give some off-lead time, meeting friends and training as part of your walks.

We were walking today but as it is too hot I have postponed until next week. Take care of your dogs in this heat. They won’t die from missing a walk but dogs do die from over heating! Plenty of cool places to rest, lots of water bowls and some mental stimulation through training, activity toys and find-it activities - all in the shade - are much better on days like this 🌞

A good walk today at Goldhanger - bit chilly but the spaniels had a fab runaround. Lovely lunch at The Chequers after.
