Going into autumn itβs time to stay vigilant of ticks on your pets! Ticks commonly sit on tall grass, ready to latch onto passing animals, often attaching to legs, chest or the face, appearing as discrete dark, grey or brownish lumps. This tick was found on a dogs paw between the pads.
Quick removal of ticks reduces the chances of transmission of diseases such as Lyme disease or babesiosis. There are routine preventative treatments that can be used if your pet is at risk, speak to the team at Brookend with any questions.
Lovely little Snoopy came into us yesterday after managing to get a fish hook attached to his lower lip π₯²
Fortunately we were able to remove it and ensure there was no lasting damage. He is now back home with his owner and absolutely fine βΊοΈ
It is that time of year again when we see a rise in grass seed cases.
Unfortunately they can embed themselves into the paws, noses, ears and even the throats of our furry friends.
If you notice any abnormal swellings, sneezing, wrenching or constant head shaking, then please come and see us and we will check your pet over to assess whether this could be the cause.
Unfortunately this lovely cat had one embedded in her mouth which we successfully removed and she is now back at home with her owner recovering βΊοΈ
Please call us on 01376 500038 if you have any concerns about your pet this summer π
We hope you enjoy this video just as much as we enjoyed making it πππ
