Just a heads up for all my regulars.... I wasn't sure whether to post this, but in the end I always think honesty and transparency is the best thing.

After yet another consultation at Castle Hill it's been confirmed that I'll need keyhole surgery on my stomach in 4-ish months time. I have a huge Hiatal Hernia, apparently HALF of my stomach is in my chest.

The nature of the surgery means I will need up to a month off work.

I'm aware that it's likely to be the end of November time, in which case I intend to postpone it til early January, so I'm not off over Christmas - no way would I let all your gorgeous doggos be ungroomed for Santa-Paws ❤️

When I get the final dates I will contact anyone who's likely to fall within my recovery period to see what they want to do (book in earlier or later, or look elsewhere).

I really appreciate how understanding you have all been the last year, when my symptoms have been at their worst, and I've had to let some of you down at short notice x

Not grooming related, but just wanted to share this video of my own boy happily trotting along on his daily 'sniffari' with Gina from Hoof, Claw & Paw .

He's struggled with spinal arthritis the last few months, but thanks to a great vet and the right combination of meds he's jumping around like a spring chicken again as soon as he sees her!

She takes him a walk for me each day from work (my dogs come to work with me every single day 😁)

I know all you other dog lovers will understand how heartwarming it is when you've been so worried and things finally get back to a reasonable 'normal' ❤️❤️❤️

Tanya and I trialled our new bee-keepers hats today, to stop us breathing in floating dog hair, or getting it in our eyes and up our noses! 😂😂😂

My boy had his first walk with Gina from Hoof, Claw & Paw this lunchtime..... safe to say he enjoyed himself muchly and is now happy snoozing, dreaming about his next walk with her on Friday!

Apologies if anyone turned up with an enquiry or for a nail trim to find us closed this afternoon - had to close early as I've got severe pain in my wrist, tried a wrist support and Ibuprofen gel from Boots but not really any help.

Now spoken to a nurse at the Urgent Care Centre in Beverley, who thinks it's inflamed tendons and has given me advice on how to ease it.

We will be back open tomorrow at 10am as usual, however grooms may take a bit more time as I'm still in a lot of pain.

Despite government legislation making microchipping of dogs and cats (rightly) mandatory, there's still no legal requirement to actually scan them before euthanasia.
Please consider signing the petition to make it so x

Despite changes to the RCVS Code of Conduct dogs/cats can still legally be euthanised without being scanned. In non-emergencies, we want vets to be legally required to scan microchips prior to euthanasia for RBU and confirm the person presenting the animal is registered on the microchip.

Today at Aldi I met a lovely guy called Mitchell who is fundraising for sponsorships on behalf of Battersea Dogs and Cats home.

I approached him, it wasn't pushed on me.

PawPrints are proud to now be sponsors of a kennel at Battersea.

They are desperate for long term sponsorship for both the cattery and kennels, from £10 a month.

I know we're all struggling at the moment, but if anyone would like more information or to sign up Mitchell will be at Aldi until Friday xx

Again won't let me share direct, so here's a screenshot of my close friend's new business - she's fully insured, DBS checked etc and a massive animal lover with tons of experience of dogs, horses, reptiles, cavies and more.

I would trust her with my dogs, only about 4 people in the world can say that!
