We are thrilled to share the Crowdfunder page for Ashley (Parent of our Wednesday Rider Freddie) who has chosen New Yatt RDA as his Captain’s Charity for 2025. Ashley has several main challenges ahead of him this year including the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge and a Tough Mudder. The Trustees, Coaches, Volunteers and Participants at New Yatt wish Ashley all the best and will be supporting him along the way. Any donations to help Ashley reach his amazing target are greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Olivia and Louis on both passing their Level 1 Horse Care tests they learnt all about how we look after the ponies and spent two sessions grooming and helping Tia and Peggy look shiny! Well done both

Sometimes the kindness of others truly blows us away. Our Monday rider Erika-Beth has very kindly donated all the money she was given over Christmas instead of receiving presents this year. We are truly grateful to Erika-Beth for this amazing act of kindness. Thank you 🙏🏻

Merry Christmas from New Yatt RDA. All the ponies enjoyed their Christmas brunch this morning followed by a grazing box of hay. A huge thank you to all our volunteers working over the Christmas break to ensure our ponies are cared for and given lots of attention.

Thank you to our Saturday Duke of Edinburgh Bronze volunteers Romina and Georgia for their help over the past term. From rainy day poo picking and ragwort digging to decorating the Christmas tree we kept them busy! Good luck with your awards from the Saturday team.

On Monday morning Darcey and Dylan took part in one of our horse care sessions where they helped groom our ponies, pick out their feet, put their rugs on and then learnt how to clean their tack and tack boxes. Both Dylan and Darcey were awarded with their Grade 2 Horse Care certificates and badges. Congratulations to you both! We are super proud of you both.

On Saturday we congratulated Tilly, Jake, Heidi, Louis, Olivia and Joey on all completing their Grade 1 Riding proficiency tests. All these riders have been practising over the last few weeks on sitting happily in walk and halt, and in changing the rein. They have all held the reins and demonstrated a number of exercises such as standing up in their stirrups, leaning out to reach a toy and drop it off, or reaching forward to touch their ponies ears. We are very happy and proud they are all making great progress!

We had a really fun morning at this event, despite the weather. Thank you to everyone who helped us sort tack and/or donated items for us to sell. Thank you to the organising team (tutors and students at Abingdon & Witney College) for running such a lovely event! And thank you to the other sellers/buyers for helping us raise much needed funds for New Yatt RDA 🙏🏻🐴💚

All set-up (and already selling, raising money for New Yatt RDA) at the Abingdon & Witney College (Common Leys campus) Tack Sale! We’re (along with lots of other sellers) here until 12noon - come along for lots of tack (and other horsey related) bargains! 🐴 💚

There’s also a fab raffle and refreshments, run by the college students.

Mondays are a busy day- Taylor and Bella have both passed their Level 2 riding proficiency tests - both of them have started riding new ponies in the past few weeks- Harry and Peggy- so this challenge was extra special as they have both bonded with their new ponies and made excellent progress! Well done Taylor and Bella
