Joey is one of my very nervous dogs that dosent like being groomed and has a lot of triggers when it comes to grooming 🐾 Joeys triggers are the blaster, clippers and having his legs done while Joey hasn’t been coming to Heidi’s hounds and hairs dog grooming for very long, we have been working on gaining joeys trust with a lot of reassurance and positive encouragement, today we worked on him being safe around the blaster without trying to jump off the table ( didn’t manage to do his legs bless him) the blaster makes Joey panic even on the lowest setting today I’ve managed to give him a bath and dry him enough with the towel and while having the blaster on drying him slowly and at joeys paces, Joey needs brakes in between grooming so it doesn’t overwhelm him, hopefully one done Joey will learn to love being pampered 🐾 while we was taking a break with any nervous dog I have in I like to make it as fun as possible so we was playing with a toy which is also a good way to gain trust with Joey 🐾🩵

Maisel has come on massively since coming to Heidi’s hounds and hairs dog grooming we still have a long way to go. But building trust is key 🩷
