🖍️ Cogges Christmas Colouring Competition

Get creative this festive season! With three prizes to be won, simply pop into the surgery and pick up a dog, cat, or rabbit colouring sheet for your chance to take part. All entries must be returned by Friday 19th December.

We’d also love your help decorating the Cogges Christmas Tree 🎄
With every colouring sheet, you’ll receive a bauble to decorate and hang on our tree — and in return, you can choose a chocolate or sweet treat as a thank-you! If you don’t want to take part in colouring but would like to decorate a bauble just ask at reception, we’d love to see your designs 💙

Please be aware there are road works on Cogges Hill Road today, one of our staff members has spoke with the supervisor who has confirmed that clients will be allowed through to the practice, but with this in mind please allow extra time to get to us, as there are big machines in areas of the road so there may be slight delays on your route to us.

Thank you.

❤️Cute pup alert!❤️

We met Teddi for the first time today and she certainly made us smile.
Teddi is a little terrier cross pup. She was very brave and cuddly during her visit to us for her vaccination and health check.

** Please share**

This is very sad news and we urge our clients to follow the advice given in Witney Town Council’s post shared below.
If you have any concerns about a sick or injured bird, please telephone the practice for advice and guidance. Please do not touch, pick up or bring to the practice any sick birds without phoning us or Defra’s helpline first for advice.
Thank you.

Witney Town Council is saddened to confirm that a deceased swan retrieved from Witney Lake has tested positive for avian (bird) flu -Avian Influenza (H5N1). A second swan has also since died.

We know how much our community cares about the wildlife at the lake, and this news will be upsetting for many. We are working closely with the appropriate agencies and will continue to carefully monitor the health of our wild birds.

Please do not attempt to collect or touch dead birds, or birds that appear sick or behaving unusually. Please report them directly to Defra using the link below:

📞 Defra Helpline: 03459 33 55 77

Thank you for helping us do the right things to protect the lake and its wildlife.

🎃Halloween hazards (decorations, sweets, pumpkins, candles)🕯️

Halloween can be fun, but it’s worth keeping an eye out for things that could harm curious cats. Chocolate, raisins, and sweets with xylitol are all toxic, even in small amounts, and should be kept well out of reach. While cats aren’t usually drawn to sweet treats, just a nibble could lead to vomiting, tremors, or even organ damage 🍬

🎃Carved pumpkins are safe in small amounts and can even be a healthy snack — but spiced pumpkins can upset your cat’s stomach, and it’s best to dispose of any pumpkins quickly once they start to rot. Candles and decorations are fine too, as long as they’re out of paw’s reach. Most cats find being dressed up in costumes to be stressful, rather than fun.

👻Halloween can mean lots of comings and goings at the door, with parties or trick-or-treaters. These can be stressful for cats, and also offers opportunities for escape. If you have an indoor-only cat, take special care around this time to keep them secure. Always make sure your cat’s microchip details are up-to-date. To help your cat feel calm, offer them a quiet, secure, cosy spot indoors where they can escape the noise.
