Cats Conkers Boarding Cattery

Cats Conkers Boarding Cattery A newly established private boarding cattery between Witney and Burford in West Oxfordshire. Since 1993 I have been involved with the welfare of animals.
(8)

Hand rearing has been my speciality since that time. I started with hedgehogs from new-born and progressed to kittens. I have a huge respect for all animals including wildlife and I am particularly fond of cats. I have worked and am currently still working as a volunteer for most of the cat charities and over the years have honed my skills at hand rearing kittens. I am able to rear kittens if nece

ssary from less than one day old. I rarely lose a life. I currently have three 15 year old cats which I took in as kittens. All these cats have medical issues which made them difficult to rehome after I had reared them. They are very special to me. Over the years and during my professional capacity I have attended many cat behaviour courses. All cats are treated as individuals by me as I am aware they all have different needs !!! Opening this boarding cattery is the realisation of my dreams for many years. There is such a need for good quality accommodation for cats when their owners are on holiday and I will look after each and every one of them as if they were my own.

Took this picture of the cattery earlier on today, very spirit lifting for me and the cats……..together with the patchouli incense sticks that another customer gave me last week. It is my happy place. How lucky I am to care for such lovely cats😻😻😻

One of my very lovely customers has made this chocolate ( yum yum yum ) ring as a raffle prize for the open day on 21st August…..she made one for me as a Christmas present last year and I resisted the taste test for as long as I could….then once I ate the first one that was it, I just stuffed the rest without a shred of guilt. 🤣🤣🤣

Since coming into my life as a stray when I first opened the cattery, Floyd has become one of the most wonderful cats I have ever owned.

Floyd and Queen started off as enemies but now they are “besties”. He is wise and loyal….if I ever call him he comes without fail.

Please give “stray” cats a chance of a good life.

For the past year or so I have been visited by a long haired ginger cat. He is extremely shy, probably not neutered and is very stiff on his back end. I would say he is arthritic.

I have been making local enquiries but so far no one has claimed the little chap. I have named him Darling and he now responds to this name.

I am trying to gain his trust so I can help him.

If anyone around the Bushey Ground Brize Norton area knows anything about him please get in touch.

If he is a genuine stray I would like to help him.

I have tried to get a picture but he is too shy.
I
I will not feed him if he is someone’s much loved companion.

Queen thinks that these two are her very own children…..I haven’t the heart to tell her that they are nothing like her at all🙀🙀 they too think she is the best mum in the world……she is the best in the world to me too.

Queen is my third Staffordshire and all of them have been just as lovely…Queen took a bit longer than the other two to grow up but worth the wait.

The garden is open again for the National Garden Scheme on Sunday 21st August between 2 and 5 pm.

‘The Cats Protection’ will be coming along to provide tea, cake, cold drinks and coffee etc.….there will also be stalls to raise money for cats which are needing help and medical attention. We also have plants for sale.

Some of you may know that for many years I have been hand rearing orphaned kittens…..I currently have two which have been hand reared by me since they were nine days old.

Please come along to support charity….the garden is lovely and well” worth a visit. Spread over an acre with lots of unusual features.

If anyone has bric a brac or a raffle prize to donate then please get in touch with me……there are so many cats that do not know the meaning of a “ loving home”. Please help them to be happy for the rest of their lives. Lynn Rogers

For many months now I believed i was feeding four hedgehogs bought here by a wildlife rescue.I set up a camera just to make sure they were healthy as it seemed odd that the dry food was consistently disappearing even though they should be thinking of hibernation.

it turns out that a long haired ginger cat Is taking the food and not the hedgehogs!

for the very first time I saw Him/her in daylight tonight.

very very shy, very low to the ground, very long haired and woolly looking. I am assuming he is an entire male as he is spraying on my shrubs.

of course i want to help him but not if he is your much loved companion animal.

please let me know if he is your cat and i will not try to encourage him. If he isnt owned i will try to help him.

thankyou🌻🌻
