I am so chuffed with Hope,s progress. A few weeks ago we were a little worried about Hope as she was going through a period of over grooming and was getting bald patches.

Over grooming can be triggered off by a variety of things, anxiety, stress, allergies and other causes.

It was really a process of trial and error and I believe we have cracked it and Hope is definately looking more fluffy and the bald patches are covering up.

She has also gained weight.

We worked through all the possibilities and we placed her on boiled flaked chicken for protein and Royal Canin Skin and Coat. We also administered 1 capsule of Oil Of Evening Primrose to her wet food each day.

Hope now thinks she is in the running for Miss Four Paws 🐾. She is super cocky but just thought I would let you all know her progress just in case any of your cats have experienced this.

SANTA PAWS 🐾 2024.

I cannot believe we are hitting this time of the year already. I will be launching Santa Paws again this year but could do with a helping hand.

I am looking residents in Woburn Sands, Aspley Guise, Wavendon, Bow Brickhill willing to be a donation point for Santa Paws for residents to donate pet food, cat equipment, pet litter , blankets.

The rescue centres are overwhelmed and there are shortages of supplies so this year I am hoping to launch Santa Paws from the 1st December and with a deadline for donations being 20th of December.

Also, I am having to watch my back due to a back injury which is still healing so I can.t lift and carry heavy things at the moment so it would also be a huge help if there are a couple of volunteers in the community that would be willing once the Santa Paws cut off date is reached to help deliver items to National Animal Welfare Bedfordshire.

Once we have established the donation points for Woburn Sands, Aspley Guise, Wavendon, Bow Brickhill we will let you know where they are.

Once again thank you all so much for your support with this and hope we can give those rescued animals a lovely Xmas.

This is a distressing time for many pet owners whose pets do get distressed due to fireworks. It,s not just cats and dogs but horses, cattle, wild animals and humans that suffer.

For cats and dogs some pets have to go and have injections to calm pets down. There are a number of pet calming tablets that are available and sprays such as Felway Spray.

You can also ask Alexa to play cat calming music and BBC Radio have programmes which play music for pets over this period .

If you are having a fireworks display it is always welcomed with open arms if you warn your street or neighbourhood in advance. It gives residents, farmers warning to move cattle, horses and to get pets ready as much as possible.

Hope has been going through a period of overgrooming but things have calmed down very quickly and action plan immediately set to motion.

Overgrooming can be caused by do many different things. Allergies, fleas, stress etc. I

We checked for fleas and did her flea and worming treatments.

Got the flea spray out, washed and sprayed carpets bedding etc ( you know just in case)

We bathed her and combed through. Her legs looked like sticks. We did laugh but needs must .

We trimmed her claws. You only need to do this if your cats claws need trimming but when a cat overgrooms and their claws get too long their claws can scratch their skin

She snuggled down in warm blanket listening to Bon Jovi and Aretha Franklin . You can also ask Alexa to play cat calming music too.

Her diet has changed to Royal Canin skin and coat wet food , Oil Of Evening Primrose Oil for pets plus itching and immunity treats. You can buy cat foods which are allergy free and 100% meat based. Kat Kin is really good but there are others on the market too.

We pierce one capsule of Oil Of Evening Primrose and add the oil to her wet food each morning.

We don.t normally give treats to Hope but a couple of these immunity and itch cat treats have gone down very well.

We have introduced this routine for the past few days and already we are seeing improvements in her coat and she has starting to cut down on over grooming

Hope will be looking like a goddess in no time.

It is a process of ruling out possibilities but if the symptoms persist a vet visit may be required.

Well I thought I would treat Hope to a relaxation day as if she does not relax enough mind you but I know she enjoys 100% attention because she rules the house.

Well "Alexa" tried to work it's musical magic on Hope today. I did the "Alexa, play cat calming music" and Hope stretched her paws, stared me out and listened to harps playing and then settled for a bit, BUT, I then thought let's try other music and then I asked Alexa to play The Beach Boys " Let,s do it again" and Hope seemed to like that but then I stuck on Aretha Franklin and "Respect" and that was purrfect!!! Hope loved it and came over to me and nuzzled my arm and went to sleep.

I recon Hope has good taste.

I will try Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen tomorrow.

UPDATE: Hi everyone. I just wanted to give you all a general update. As you are aware I tore a muscle in my back. I am afraid it has restricted me on doing as many cat feeds as I do normally but this is only a temporarily situation..

At the moment I am currently doing AM visits only for the next few weeks. This is to allow my back to rest up and for me to spend less time in the car so I can rest the muscle.

You can imagine how frustrating this is for me as I really value all the custom I receive and I have been so touched by the messages and support I have received from my clients as I recover.

The good news is that this is not a permanent thing and I am already seeing improvements even though I am not quite recovered but the painkillers and doing as I am told are starting to see results in my recovery.

It is going to take at least another 2 weeks before I can start increasing my workload and getting back to my 2 visits a day mode.

I know there are a number of you that have cats with medication and thankfully there has not been too many. This is a quieter time of the year so if I was going to sustain an injury I guess every cloud has a silver lining and that it has happened during a quieter period and not over a peak period.

So if all goes according to plan I should be back on 2 visits a day from the 22nd of October and I will keep you all posted if my GP says otherwise and I know I need to behave.

Meanwhile I am spending time doing admin and taking bookings for cat feeding for November and December and 2024 and 2025 bookings. I am working over the Christmas Period and you will see my operating hours in the featured section of my page.

As you know I am also a government authorised and government agency trained Mobile Cat Microchip Implanter. I will be starting back on microchipping once I am fully recovered in the next 2 to 3 weeks so feel free to book your cat in to be microchipped from home and I will schedule you in.

I guess now I am resting up it is allowing me to spend more time with my own cat Hope. She is keeping me very much entertained.

Anyway I send you all a big hug and thank you so much for your continued support it has meant an awful lot. Feel free to Whatsapp me on 07999 862705 if you have dates for your cats to be fed or would like to arrange for your cat to be microchipped. For cat feeding you will find my cat feeding zone area in my featured section of this page and for Microchipping I do cover Milton Keynes and surrounding villages. CAT RUN. Further to my last announcement. While doing my one visit a day rounds over the next few weeks I will be starting my cat rounds after rush hour in the mornings. This will help restrict the amount of time I am driving and help me prevent being stuck in traffic which will help take the pressure off my back while it heals.

I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes. My torn muscle in my back will heal but I need to be sensible and minimise my work as much as I can over the next few weeks to allow myself to rest and let the healing process begin xx
