HOSPITAL STAYS. It can be stressful for any cat owner who suddenly needs to go into hospital. There is so much to sort out and one of them is ensuring that your beloved cat is well taken care of while you are away.

Cats prefer being in the comfort of their own home and surroundings and an environment which they are familiar and happy in. It is less stressful for them.

It gives clients extra comfort knowing that I can visit and tend to your cats needs while you are recovering. I am DBS checked, insured and trained to administer medication by Greensands Vets which also gives comfort to many owners knowing that if their cats are also on medication that there is someone who is qualified to administer it.

Hospital stays can happen at a moments notice so I do try and cater for emergency cat feeds as quickly as possible. For those clients that don't have time for a pre meeting I do also have an Emergency Cat Feeding Questionaire which clients or relatives of clients can fill in and email across to me at a moments notice.

All I ask is that I am dropped off a set of keys to the clients property and that those keys have been checked that they are working.

HOLIDAY CHECK LIST

Well Spring has sprung and the weather is definitely changing and with everything going on before you go away on your travels here is a little check list to ensure all goes smoothly ready for when I come and feed your cats and they are kept warm and cosy. I am DBS checked, insured and trained to administer medication by Greensands Vets .

1. Ensure you have enough wet and dry food including extra just in case you do get delayed (Remember to whatsapp me on 07999 862705 if you do get delayed. There is no extra cost and your cats will continue to be fed until you get home safe and sound. )

2. Ensure you have enough p**p bags, litter tray liners, cat litter to last the duration of your holiday plus extra for delays.

3. If your cat is on medication please ensure that you order your medication through your vet weeks before you go away. This allows your vet time to order the medication in to ensure you have the medication ready in time for your holiday and quantities to last the duration of your holiday plus extra in case you are delayed. Also ensure that the necessary dosage is made clear and feel free to whatsapp me any changes in dosage. I am trained to administer medication by Greensands Vets so clients do have peace of mind knowing that their cat will continue to receive their course of medication in a timely manner while you are away.

4. If your cat is diabetic please ensure all insulin is correctly stored away at a suitable temperature in your fridge. Please also state the timings of insulin given morning and evening. We can liaise before you go away if any timings need to be adjusted when you go away

5. Ensure your pet feeders and cat timers have fresh batteries inserted and spare batteries on hand.

6. Ensure there are fresh batteries inserted in your microchipped cat flaps to ensure your cats can access.

7. Ensure you smoke detectors have fresh batteries inserted.

8. Ensure your house alarm batteries are fully charged.

9. Cancel your milkman and newspapers

10. Ensure your heating is set at 18c or above. This will ensure your cats are kept warm but also to help prevent any waterpipes from bursting.

11. Ensure all keys are checked they are working. Any key safes are working correctly. All keys to be handed over to me at least 24 hours before you go away.

12. All pet insurance documents and emergencies contact numbers are accessible.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT HEATHROW AIRPORT DELAYS. I am aware that a number of you are currently away and due to fly back over the coming days. This is just to make you aware that I am aware of the situation going on at Heathrow Airport and am on standby for those of you that will be delayed getting home over the coming days.

MOBILE MICROCHIPPING. As many of you know as well as being your local cat lady I am also a government authorised and government agency trained Mobile Microchip Implanter.

I was off grid for a few weeks last year and could only stick to local cat feeding due to a back injury and wasn,t as mobile and couldn,t do as many microchip clinics to allow my back to heal.

The good news is my back is almost back to normal which means that as well as doing my local cat feeds I can now restart my mobile microchipping clinics.
