Hi all, your moderator kindly gave me permission to post on your site regarding an Old Tyme Bulldog I am currently fostering.

Dulcie is a 6 year old OTB bitch, she was picked up by a dog warden as a stray and found herself in the pound. Her chip was out of date and her time was up so the small Hertfordshire rescue I volunteer with took over her care and I have been fostering her since early May.

Dulcie is my first experience of a bull type dog - it was quite a learning curve 😂 but I have grown to adore her. She is full of personality - affectionate, playful, sensitive, funny and an absolute bull in a china shop!

She is in foster with my 2 other dogs, goes out with my dog walker to a secure field with several other dogs, and goes to doggy daycare. She can get over-excited when meeting other dogs, but there's no malice. She can get in some dogs faces and doesn't always read them, but that's just lack of socialisation as a pup.

She could live with or without other dogs.

When she arrived with me she was very underweight, lactating and had a huge undercarriage - think 42GG! It is clear that she has had multiple litters.

She is now speyed, fully vaccinated and has a clean bill of health. No breathing issues. It took a while to sort her sensitive tum out but she is now on a raw diet and is doing well on it.

The rescue I foster for is called Heathlands Animal Sanctuary on the Herts/Cambs border.

I am mystified that she has had no interest and can only think it's because of the bad press that bull type dogs get. If you or anyone you know is looking for an adult OTB bitch, please get in touch.
