Woking Cats Protection We’re here to support cats across Woking and District -check out our website for further information.

Every year we help more than 500 cats in a variety of ways. We do all the obvious things including: Re-homing strays, unwanted pets and cats that cannot stay with their owners often for heartbreaking reasons. We help them in ways such as: fostering these cats and kittens until a suitable home is found, advising people about various cat related matters, taking cats to the vet for treatment or check

ups, fundraising to support our activities, advertise cats who are lost or found help to reunite lost cats with their owners.

Check your car before you travel!

Cats love to hide, and sometimes this can include underneath parked cars. On a cold day, some cats have even been known to nestle themselves in a warm car engine in search of a cosy spot.

Before you take a trip, check your cat (or any cats in the neighbourhood) aren’t underneath your vehicle.

Give a little tap on the hood or slam your car door while taking a quick glance underneath.

After you’ve made plenty of noise, give any cats a bit of time to run away before your start your engine.

Are daffodils poisonous to cats?

While daffodils are a beautiful sign of spring, they are unfortunately dangerous for our feline friends. Daffodil bulbs contain crystals that are extremely toxic to cats if eaten.

The heads and leaves can also make your cat unwell if consumed. Daffodils contain a poisonous substance called lycorine. If digested, this can cause stomach upset, vomiting or wider serious illness.

If you suspect your cat has ingested any part of a daffodil, please seek advice from your vet immediately.

🧹Cat-safe cleaners 🧹

While using some products is unavoidable, you can make small swaps which are safer for your cat:

🐈‍⬛ Many pet shops sell household cleaners that are safe for pets (and still do the job)

🐈‍⬛You don’t always need harsh chemicals – scourers can help you to remove stubborn dirt with a bit of elbow grease.

🐈‍⬛Vinegar and baking soda can be a great homemade cleaner and is really effective

🐈‍⬛Wash your cat’s bedding on a hot wash rather than relying on chemical cleaners
