A poignant photo to remember this Christmas, the last Christmas for many XL bully’s in this country 🎅🏼💔

A bit of an intro for people who have recently started following. I’m a clinical animal behaviourist working in Surrey, I help dogs in person at my venue in Redhill but also remotely too. I see many dogs with dog/dog reactivity issues but also a lots of dogs with issues around people, owner-directed aggression, resource guarding issues, dogs with noise phobias, abnormal repetitive behaviours and also dogs who are generally anxious and struggling to cope with life.

I have 3 dogs who help me at work- a Northern inuit (Sylvi) who I’ve had since a puppy, a Dalmatian (Lucky) who came to me through rescue when he was 2 and a Yorkie (Twig) who came to me through rescue at 6 days old. I had Lurchers and another inuit before my current dogs so I’ve lived with, and loved, a variety of breeds. I also have children and I’m always happy to help with families who need help integrating children and dogs safely and happily.

Please get in touch if you need help, I’m a full APBC member so many insurance companies cover my fees in full.

We are extremely pleased to continue our FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS that Dogmetrix will be hosting 🐕

💙 We at Dogmetrix understand that in a cost of living crisis, paying for a dog trainer is last on your list - but that isn't to say that lots of dog owners aren't desperate for some advice and support to help them with their dog training woes. This is where Dogmetrix comes in…

☕ We are hosting a coffee morning where you can come before or after your morning dog walk, have some food and drink, purchase recommended treats and second hand dog equipment but most importantly access a professional force free trainer to help you problem solve all your canine dilemmas - for free.

We hope this will be an event of many more to come, with intentions to expand this to new areas and reach as many owners as possible. To make this achievable, we will have as "Pay What You Can" jar for anyone who comes and finds support at these events and is financially able to make a contribution, then we will greatly appreciate this to enable us to further support dog owners who are struggling in the current economic climate - however there is, of course, no obligation to do so.

Donations are a key aspect of enabling us to continue these events so please consider donating at: www.dogmetrix.co.uk

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

We are holding a dog show at the Hurst Green Village Fair this year. All proceeds are going between Epsom Canine Rescue and Applegarth Dog Rescue. The fete is running from 1pm with magic, dancing, live entertainment, food and stalls with different activities on. The dog show is running from 2:30pm. We are just wondering if anyone locally has anything they would like to donate to the raffle that will be running alongside, or if any companies would like to help sponsor the show. All money raised will be going directly to help dogs. We are also doing doggie prize bags for the winners of each competition and are desperately in need of toys/treats etc to put in the bags. Also if anyone would like to volunteer on the day please let me know or if anyone has any ideas please feel free to message me

Do we have anyone free on the 16th between 1-4 who could possibly help volunteer for our dog show x

Meet Olly,
💙 12yrs young (thinks hes 5)
💙 Loves cuddles
💙 Sweet boy, loves walks
💙 Older respectful Children
⛔️ No Cats
💔 Going deaf looking for retirement home/lap

Olly's family had (due to their old age) moved in with their younger relative whose child has autism & not good with dogs. He was due to be put to sleep but placed into kennels then fostering because of this move.

Ollie’s hearing has deteriorated over the past few years & he is almost completely deaf, this was noticed when he snapped at a joggers ankle due to him being startled.

The first home was with an Ex police dog handler who had no problem with Olly apart from the first few days of settling in he barked & howled whilst the fosterer was at work. This quickly stopped & he settled in lovely. He had daily walks which included visiting pubs and had multiple people round to visit him.

The second foster home he has been easy to love, nothing phases him! He is like a shadow, follows you everywhere no matter what you’re doing to be close to you 💙 His favourite thing to do is to sit beside you having a snooze whilst cuddling his carrot.

He gets attached quickly, which isn't surprising. He has so much love to give so if you are looking for a best friend and can give him a great retirement home, please let us know. He's been moved around so much and this isn't fair on him, none of the moves were/are his fault.

He isn’t bothered by people or children on a walk and has come across a few dogs where he sniffed and walked away. A few dogs have pulled towards him barking, but he is un phased.

We have transport covered & happy to drive miles for the right home for him. (He also loves a car ride).

If you have an Ollie shaped hole in your heart, or know someone that does drop us a message for more info and of course more lovely photos🥰If interested please fill in our online application form here

🚨 Please be vigilant with checking your dogs nails especially if their fur over grows the nail! 🚨

Outlined in black is the overgrowth of this dogs nails which was starting to cut into the pad 🐾

If left this can not only cause your dog excruciating pain!! But could cost you a hefty vet bill 💰 with infections!
You don’t have to book a groom to have your dogs nails clipped
The Doggie Boutique can come to your home for nail clipping 😃

Birchwood Lodge Kennels and Cattery, Woldingham.

To our lovely customers,

Due to changes in animal boarding regulations now being strictly implemented by the government, with immediate affect we can no longer take large dogs and can only take a reduced number of small and medium sized dogs. The animal boarding industry has been given a new set of regulations to adhere to, which would involve us and most other kennels in the UK being forced to tear down and completely rebuild facilities… this is an impossible task and as an industry we are all devastated at the loss of our businesses.
Boarding kennels across the UK are now closing at a rapid rate.
We are doing everything we can under current laws to prevent the cancellation of as many bookings as is possible for this summer and making plans to try to provide a new facility for next summer.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are as devastated as you.
We have grown very attached to your pets and will miss them all terribly!

Andy, Steven and the team.x
