KILO🐶
Kilo came to CDK9 after being kicked off 2 other training courses due to his dog reactivity on lead🤔
Rewind to session 1, his owners were struggling to maintain control when out on walks due to the level of reaction he was displaying when other dogs came into his line of sight, no matter how far away they were.
His owners have worked really hard, keeping things consistent and taking all of my ideas and advice on board and in 7 sessions the transformation is really quite something.
As you can see, yesterday we achieved a real milestone for him. Close proximity with another dog, minimal reaction and by the end we even had him eating around the other dog- eating puts a dog in a really vulnerable position, his acceptance of the food was a sign he was comfortable and in a situation where he felt safe. Spot in his body language how he is sniffing the ground and really, for the most part, minding his own business which is exactly what we want from him🙌🏾
The main goal for his owners when signing up to the training was to be able to take him out and enjoy his walks rather than it be a constant stress and worry, plus getting their arms pulled off. I would say mission accomplished ✅
Final session next week to tidy up any loose ends before he graduates the program.

HERB🐶
The first dog to complete the full CDK9 program!
The transformation in this dog is incredible! From having to be driven to his walks to avoid contact with moving cars, unable to be walked down the street or taken out to places where cars would drive by, to being able to do all of those things safely with minimal stress.
Herb recently graduated from the CDK9 Obedience Program where we initially focused on his reactivity as a priority and then built in all of the basic commands and recall to provide his family with the tools needed for a well mannered, well rounded dog. Seeing the progress week by week for the past 8 weeks has been a joy and to receive texts that he has been taken to new places, doing new things let’s me know I’ve done my job👌🏾
Enjoy the freedom Herb🐾🐾
Every dog on my program will be having a slightly different experience- this is because it’s based on your priorities as an owner and what’s important to you when it comes to your dog’s behaviour. Everything else comes second to me.
Drop me a DM if you are interested in getting started 💯

LUCA🐶
Meet the newest recruit of CDK9, Luca!
Still a youngster but his owners have chosen to give him the best start at life out in the real world and build some key skills ahead of his adult life🙌🏾
Slow and steady is the key with pups, still allowing them to take in the world around them and learn, whilst guiding them on what is/isn’t acceptable for us as their owners- setting the foundations for their future and most importantly building that relationship between dog and handler.
There is no such thing as a “naughty puppy”, only a puppy who hasn’t been provided with the tools and guidance to learn what boundaries are in place in their home and outdoors.
In the early part of the session, you can see Luca is heavily distracted, paying little attention to his owners as his nose is to the ground focused on all those new smells he is picking up. Throughout the session we worked on swapping that focus onto his handler and showing him that he will be granted the freedom to head off and explore when his owners felt it was safe and appropriate, removing his desire to frantically search around for the entirety of his walk zig zagging across the pavement.
Really looking forward to continuing on the program working on his skills both on and off lead🐾

WALK WITH US🐾
This is what a typical walk looks like for us at the moment with our 15 week old pup. Exposing him to as many new things as we can, in this case, joggers, bikes, and other dogs, and practising those training drills at every opportunity. The end goal is to have him be able to walk off lead knowing he won’t react to those distractions unless given permission to, ensuring his main focus is on me and not everything else going on around us. As expected, he is still in a super early phase of his training and I look forward to showing you his progress in real time over the coming months.
Dogs are creatures of context so practising those drills in as many different places as possible is what’s going to solidify all of that hard work you are doing in your sessions with me💪🏼
A specific program will be coming soon for puppies 12-20 weeks old- drop me a DM if you would like some info 🐶
MILO🐶
Here we can see Milo after his first session on the Foundation Obedience course last week.
At the start of the session Milo was creating constant tension on the lead, pulling and making walks quite a pain for himself and his owner so we made lead work our first priority.
Fast forward one hour and as you can see everyone is super relaxed, lots of slack on the lead and nobody’s shoulders are getting pulled out of their sockets!
Really looking forward to working through the rest of the program and seeing where we can get this boy to🐾
