Absolutely fantastic results today at Little Haywood. Lynda & Flo gaining first place and Rachael & Esme second place in their level 3 - ,both with clean sweeps and full handling marks.
So proud of both these teams who work so hard but have so much fun with their girls.

It was great to see dogs and handlers all working so well tonight at the closing event. We had some interesting searches lined up with some novel hides (water, hanging cups, small bags, coats) and everyone worked these fantastically. The competition was close and resulted in:

1st place - Emma & Bonnie
2nd place - Katie & Red

Rachael & Esme ( not forgetting her wonderful pup Jemima who was amazing)

As you probably know Let Them Sniff will stop offering scent classes at the end of this month. Below are the details of Doghampton (who Jess and I continue to use for mantrailing). Susanne has just gained her C&G as a scent detection dog instructor with UKCSD (alongside many other qualifications in the dog world) and I would thoroughly recommend that you try out some scent training with her if you are interested in starting or developing further in this sport.

Doghampton now has an official C&G detection instructor.
Well done Susanne on becoming a City & Guid Scent detection dog instructor with the The UK College Of Scent Dogs Ltd , all your hard work has one again paid off….so proud 🥲

Liv and Willow headed off for some detection training.

Willow has learned to sniff the odour on people in queues and crowds and when she finds it, she makes it very clear to Liv so she can tell the individual to step aside and discuss next steps.

Not a swab in sight, not more than a second needed.

A huge congratulations to our Christmas Competition winner Kat and Bella. Some incredibly quick searching and accurate indications made this team fly through the searches and hold the lead from the start.

With only 6 seconds between the first two places, I also need to mention our runners up Rachael and Esme.

Thank you everyone that took part, there were some super searches of some unusual objects, and some great puzzle techniques from the handlers. 🧩
