Blake playing
Are you looking for a fun, playful greyhound? Look no further, Blake is your boy! This 5 year old boy is new to kennels and went out on a weekend foster where he was described as a really sweet, chilled boy who ha a couple of mad spurts then sleeps the day away.
If Blake is the boy for you, then please get in touch to come and meet him.
Ted
Does anyone remember this song sung by Nina Simone?
🎼But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good🎹
🎤Oh lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood🎼
Well, that pretty much sums up TED. Is he suffering from BBB (Big black boy) syndrome? …possibly. What we see is a big hunk of gorgeousness 🖤 who just needs a chance to prove what he is…a wonderful dog who will make a wonderful pet.
💙Cuddle monster who will fit great with a family
💛Big ball of fun and energy
💙Loves a good sniffari
💛Love squeaky toys and fuss, If you’re up, he’s up wanting pats and cuddles
💙Loves playing fetch and bring the ball back to you. He is not toy possessive at all.
💛Enjoys attention from adults and children, to the point he goes up to people to say hello
💙Yes he’s big, yes, he’s black, yes he’s a boy, and yes he can be a bit enthusiastic when he first goes out on a walk but nothing a harness and few Smackos can’t help you with.
🤞Ted has shared his kennel with lots of girlfriends who have come and gone so it really is his turn now…..🙏
Azza
Hi it's me Azza again. Yep still here 😞 I'm wondering if any of you good folk out there might like to foster me , though I wouldn't say no to being adopted.
Maybe someone's Resolution for 2025 is to be kind and help others...well if that's the case, then I'm your man! 💙💛I'm getting REALLY fed up living in kennels. Everyone is very nice and I get lovely dinners but it's not the same as being in a home.
Lots of the volunteers have taken me out and about and even home with them. You can see from the pictures that I'm really very playful and full of love but I'm getting grumpier and grumpier when other dogs get too close to me....I never used to be that way and I don't really know why I've changed 🤔
All I know is that there must be someone out there who can get me back to my old self even if it's only in a foster home. 🙏🙏🙏
The good folks at HRH really want to see me happy and sparkle again...after all my proper name is Azza Diamond. 💍 If you can make my wish come true. 🪄..I'd really appreciate if you get in touch. ☎️07488 253537 or email them at [email protected]. Thank you soooooo very much.

Fed up? A bit lonely? Love dogs? Volunteering at Home Run Hounds could be the answer!
We're a friendly bunch who are serious and passionate about finding loving homes for the greyhounds in our care but we like to have a laugh too. 🤣
Volunteering is good for our mental and physical health by providing exercise, routine, and something to do. Come join our extended greyhound family. There's lots you can do even if you can't walk a dog. Contact us to find out how: [email protected] 07488 253537.
Our first walk of 2025 at Waseley ...
When Clive and I took on Pin now known as Penny she was extremely nervous ..it took 4 hours of patience to get her to come in from our garden.
Now we have the most amazing pet who makes us smile every day with her GreyBros Charlie.
There are those greyhounds who need extra time, patience and help ... so please if your considering a Greyhound give the long stayers a chance. They will, with your help and our support ...surprise you.
We would not be without Penny and Charlie now.

THE TWELFTH HOMELESS HOUND OF CHRISTMAS
We hope you all had a lovely Christmas in whatever way you chose to celebrate.
Now that the festivities have finished (for the time being anyway) the finale of our Twelve Hounds of Christmas campaign is not one but 11 hounds who are our longer term lodgers - those who have been in kennels patiently waiting for the forever families for 6 months or more.
They are our Superdogs not our Underdogs.
We love them for who they are, with all their quirks, strong personalities and opinions. There is no greater joy than one of our long-term hounds who we have loved, cared and advocated for, finally heads off to their forever home. Tears are shed.
Occasionally we get someone who comes to kennels and asks "can I meet the dogs who have been here the longest?" We wish it happened more often.
You could make our wish come true for Azza, Elf, Casper, Addy, Hughie, Mason, Tim, Ted, Solo, Blackbird, and Belle. In return they will certainly teach you patience but also love that knows no limit. Visit today and make our volunteers cry tears of joy.
Solo saying thank you for the Turkey!!
A SONG FOR OUR GREYHOUNDS ....
Bella
THE TWELTH HOMED HOUND OF CHRISTMAS….BELLA – OUR 150TH ADOPTION OF 2024 🎉🎊🎉🎊
We’re thrilled to announce our 12th homed hound of Christmas who is also our 150th adoption this year! We are so humbled that so many adopters have trusted Home Run Hounds to help them find their new family member.
And the incredible hard work done by our small army of volunteers in preparing our ex-racers to get them ready to go from kennel to couch.
This is an awesome result considering Home Run Hounds only expanded from 9 dogs in one site to 50 dogs in 3 sites, in January of this year, and to 4 sites later in the year. Thank you all so very, very much for making it such a success! Now for Bella’s story...
“Julia was heartbroken after the passing of her beloved greyhound, Maggie May. She knew that the best tonic was to open her heart and home to another greyhound who was waiting in kennels to be chosen.
After looking through our website, Julia was drawn to beautiful Bella and with her daughter, Rachel came to kennels to meet her.
It was love at first sight so Julia arranged a date to collect Bella and take her home, she was so sure that she was the girl for her that she went on straight adoption. It happened to be the same day as Bella’s kennel mate, Falcon, was adopted and the 2 dogs got the chance to say goodbye to each other!
As there was already a Bella living in the same road, she is now called Belle.
Julia reports that Belle has settled in very easily, finding her food bowl within minutes and making herself right a home!
We all wish Belle and Julia a long and happy life together and we look forward to hearing about her adventures.”
Scarlet
THE EVENTH HOMELESS HOUND OF CHRISTMAS…SCARLET
“An absolute pleasure”, “10 out of 10”, “confident lil’ lady who loves a fuss”, “ a real sweetie”, “good as gold” …
Scarlet has been out with our volunteers and they have nothing by praise for her:
- Jumped into car
- Not bothered by noise, hustle and bustle
- Great in the coffee shop
- Loves a puppaccino
- Aced the “stairs” test
- Dream to walk
- No reaction to other dogs
- “asked” to go out during her home visit
- Cuddle monster (almost falling asleep during her neck massage).
Don’t think we need to say more except we just can’t fathom why she’s been with us since September! She’s obviously waiting for that very special person…might that be you?
