INTRODUCING GIGI
Four-year-old Gigi did ever so well on her first trip out into the big wide world with volunteer Simon. Confident and friendly she coped amazing well with all the sites and sounds of Mere Green though was a bit unsure at first about the puppaccino but soon got the hang of it 😋She met several dogs including big boy Toby the Alsatian with no problems.

What a good girl!

If you'd like to come and meet Gigi, please give us a ring, we don't think she'll be with us long. 🫶🤞

CUDDLES WITH LARRY
We're taking bookings to come and have cuddles with lovable Larry - but you'll have to join the queue with our volunteers who say he's such a sweet natured, gentle boy.

Larry who is 5 years old, can be a little shy until he gets to know you but loves nothing more than cuddles. He did incredibly well on a recent trip out to Bridgnorth even going on the cliff railway!

Please get in touch if you'd like to find out about this lovely boy. He;s got the making of a pawfect pet. 🥰

Happily Homed -Berry - Elderberry Jacq

Tracey and Andy might be new to greyhounds, but as experienced big dog owners they were looking for a special sort of greyhound and gorgeous girl Berry fitted the bill. Berry isn’t such a typical couch potato and as Tracey was looking for a dog she could enjoy walking, Berry was the one for them. A walk round Sutton Park, where Berry showed off her zest for life, sealed the deal for Berry to start her foster to adopt period.

After a couple of weeks on F2A Berry was back for the adoption papers to be completed. She hasn’t put a paw wrong and seems to have taken to retirement rather well. She even sleeps on the bed-they are going to have to buy a bigger one! She enjoys her walks and her toys, but most of all she loves being loved in a home of her own.

Previous dogs have benefitted from blood donations, so Berry will hopefully be back to donate at upcoming sessions at the kennels.

Welcome to the greyhound family Tracey and Andy, we look forward to hearing all about Berry’s retirement.

Connie has been on a couple of trips out with our volunteers and has received glowing reports. 🌟

Connie has shown herself to be confident, and easy-going. She coped well with all the new experiences, remaining calm when meeting other dogs even a terrier who barked at her and a spaniel who tried to sniff her. 🐾

She has also proven herself to be partial to a puppuccino! 😋

On a recent trip out, she was unfazed by a train pulling into the station with a hiss of brakes. She walked past parked cars and moving cars were no problem for her, nor children playing. More interested in the football game.

She's a dog who takes everything in her stride. 😍

In the car, she travels well—hopping in and out confidently—and prefers to stand and look out the window, showing her nosy side!

Connie comes across as a happy, friendly, confident, and adaptable girl who loves people and is sure to become a fabulous companion. 😍

WORCESTER WALK
The sun shone down on the 26 greyhounds, 4 ‘honorary greyhounds’, plus human slaves joining the Worcester Walk this Sunday. We were joined by the Quinn family, who are considering greyhound adoption and their daughter Elsie readily accepted the role of ‘chief sausage giver’. As always, the sausages are made to a special low salt recipe by the Little Black Pig butchers at Bells Farm Shop and supplied at cost.

The raffle raised £50 and there were prize donations as well as tins of sardines for the dogs back at kennels. Thank you to Ann and Keith Jones for keeping our raffle prizes topped up. Also thanks to Barbara for helping out and leading the walk.

The next Worcester Walk is on Sunday 28th December, meeting outside the Orchard Cafe from 10:30am for an 11am start.

Happily Homed Jack - a lovely story to start the week

Volunteers Mark and Maggie started volunteering at our Watford Gap Kennels to help walk and socialise the kennel dogs, and help find them their happily-ever-after families because they weren't going to adopt one themselves.

They were missing their old lurcher who had sadly passed away 12 months ago and volunteering was a good way to spend time with dogs....but Jack had other ideas about the whole "we're not going to have another dog" thing. 😆

There really was no other way to describe it but love at first sight 💖💖💖
Jack had only been in kennels a couple of days when Maggie and Mark visited to do their shift. He had chosen them and that was that!

After taking him out to the park and home for a couple hours to see what he was like out and about, it couldn't have gone better. As you can see Jack has made himself right at home graduating from floor to sofa in no time at all! 😆

We'll see alot of him though as Maggie and Mark plan to continue to volunteer at the kennels and Jack can tag along and join the other adopted hounds that keep the volunteers company in the office.

We just love a happy ending, don't you?
