Some mature koi chosen by Chris today. These will stay with use until April and the warmer weather.
Apologies there’s no sound I had to mute it due to some colourful banter 😂.

I will be firing up the koi auctions again soon with the option of overwintering on some koi.
Lots of new koi will be coming to keepers koi in the new year.
I’ve added a mini digger to my tool collection this year so I’m sure a new puddle or two will be added to my current stock of ponds.
I will add the link to the new WhatsApp group auction and soon be shutting down the old one.

This week I have been experimenting with different pellet diets and getting dusty with the pellet machine.
Fishmeal content in some brands is usually quite small or not present at all.
Having complete control over exactly what my fish eat and quantities of ingredients is essential for good growth, shape, colour etc.
So far it’s been quite successful but still more trialling is needed.

Chonking up nicely.
All koi fry are in for the winter months. Feeding hard and growing wider (then longer) biggest is around 5-6 inches.
I plan to take this batch forward to at least May before I select a small amount to grow for next summer to the next level.

My last kogane from the 2023 Japanese harvest left today. It’s been an interesting koi to watch grow and improve. Nice chunky body. Gin Rin male kogane went with her also as a pair.

It’s the time of year where I’m supposed to do some of those jobs on the home but luckily customers keep coming over ( not a diy fan)😂
Chagoi and ochiba chosen today ( had a good run on ochiba recently) just a quick video before bagging up.

It’s grim in Suffolk today with constant heavy rain.
My inside pond fish couldn’t give a monkeys though.
I’d imagine the pond covers will be going on shortly for a few hobbyists.

Keepers koi will be closed from 3pm today.Open again on Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone.

10 x asagi from last years spawning.
All have damage to the pecs from nibbling even though they were fed 5 x a day. Pecs are repairing and growing back ( will happen faster in warmer weather)
Typically I sell these for 20 each. Whole bowl of 10 for 50 notes. Must be collected today. ( as late as 9pm)
If unsold they can go into our natural pond.

Moved some of this summers fry indoors today ready for the cooler months. Quite happy with how the Ki and kin Ki Utsuri and Yamabuki are progressing.
Hi Utsuri were a bit of a flop but I have learned from the failure.

It’s that time of year again moving stocks round ready for winter/new arrivals ( these were in the bowl less than a minute).
Already got the chagoi/ochiba fingerlings inside, Ki Utsuri and Yamabuki next week.
Quite happy with the growth on the Japanese tosai several in the 30+ cm mostly showa, kohaku from Saito and gin Rin Saragoi.
