A slightly more personal post.

I previously worked with and on one day, I gave a webinar sharing my experiences of working in Bolivia getting an ethical knit and crochet manufacturer Fair Trade International certified. It all went well and at the end, Adriana (founder) asked participants to share why they believe textiles industries can be used to leverage systems change.

One lady shared her reason why - it was that her mother was employed fairly as a knitter, always earning a fair wage and being paid on time.

This meant that she went to school, college and university, had a safe place to live, always had food on the table (and other basic ammenities). She is now working internationally on driving systems change in the industry.

To me, that is full circle on how we can improve the current paradigm. After this, there wasn't a dry eye in the Zoom room as we were all so touched by her experience. I think about this a lot and it really drives me to champion sustainable textiles and the incredible things that the industry can create.

The collection is handcrafted in England for Daylesford and is made with Peta approved vegan apple leather.

The apple leather we work with uses apple residues from apples grown in the North of Italy.

Apple residues used in the production of vegan apple leather are waste products from juice, compote, babyfood and the like production.

The material is transformed from aples into leather in the heart of Tuscany.

We manufacture our collection in England, where we work with a team of talented artisans.

We work with AWS as we know first hand how impactful their work is. Its an organisation close to our hearts as Alli, our chief executive pooch is from Cape Town herself!

On a recent trip to visit our wonderful manufacturing partner, I debossed some of our p**p bag holders.

It's always so lovely to work with other industry folk, who are aligned with our mission and values of quality craftsmanship here in England.

The debossing is done once the pieces are stuck together, all rivet holes have been clicked out but before sewing begins.

Dog waste bags made with Oyster shell extract 🦪

Our p**p bags are made with Oceanex, an oyster shell derived from oyster shell.

Typically oyster shells are discarded to landfill or thrown back into the ocean, with the risk of unbalanced the local ecosystem.

We really love these waste bags as they are contributing to the circular economy, by extending the lifespan of the oyster shell.

There are 15 bags per roll, are strong and sturdy and the centre core is made with recycled and recyclable cardboard.

Also, they are no risk to seafood allergy sufferers and have no scent!
