After many years of welcoming families onto the site, I took a very difficult decision to decide to turn it into an Adult Only site, (and no, it is not a Naturist site!). This decision came after the sad passing of my Dad last year, who I had completely relied upon to look after the site on a daily basis. He was here every day - maintaining the grounds and play equipment and resolving the many issues that crop up on a campsite. How lucky that my brother has stepped into Dad's shoes, along with my Mum, and together they maintain the site whilst I am at work. I acknowledge that many families have been upset by my decision and I am so sorry for this. There are some family friendly weekends ahead - please pm me if you are interested. Whilst many families have been upset by my decision, there are equal amounts of adults who have been delighted to come and experience complete peace and quiet. A recent complaint was 'noisy pigeons!' in the hedge. I don't have much control over the pigeons! A suggestion to parents! Why not come and experience a weekend away without the children?! Re-charge the batteries and have a little time out and time together. The site is also available for private hire; weddings and parties etc and of course children are welcome on this basis. I have plans ahead for further improvements on the site and I look forward to welcoming you to Guy's Field at Brick Kiln. Txx

A bird nesting problem! The martins have returned to set up home at Brick Kiln in the garage. This now has a door on it (I feel ashamed of myself) and they seem to be getting anxious about where to nest. They have built a nest in the campsite loos - not the best idea - and it has failed miserably for them and their little nest is sliding down the walls. I feel terrible :( Can I help them at all? Should I buy a nesting box? I love seeing them every year and I don't want them to 'leave home' x

A Request! I am hoping to get a copy of the poster that was part of The Daily Mail on Sunday 26th February 2017 called the Daily Mail Guide to Trees/ Wild Flowers - printed by the Woodland Trust. Does anyone have a copy of this that they don't want? Would be most grateful to hear from anyone who can help. Thank you. x

Well, I don't want to sound Clever - but pretty pleased I decided not to open at Easter this year....It was terrible!! I am sure there would have been many hardy campers who would have weathered the storm - but I am sure there would also have been many miserable, cold campers who had wished they had stayed at home. Some campers may have woken up to be looking at the stars. Canvas would have been everywhere. And certainly no one would have been able to control marshmallows on a stick or campfires! Countdown now begins to the official opening at the end of April. We are going to have a very busy season ahead....Lets hope for some good weather soon x
