Learn the signals! Dogs body language is always telling us how they feel, if we push these boundaries they will use the last tool in their box - a bite! Dogs are not toys or babies and should be treated with the respect they deserve 🐾♥️🐾

Socialisation should be renamed. Dog owners (especially first time dog owners) believe mixing their dogs in groups, day care and at the park will help their dog ‘get used to’ other dogs. Socialisation means to build up your dogs tolerance to other dogs, people, places, objects, noises and situations that they may find worrying. It doesn’t involve letting your dog figure it out for themselves or allowing them to ‘play’ with every dog they meet. Just as you wouldn’t with a child. Start thinking of your dog as a furry toddler and you might start understanding the needs of your dog a lot better!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ….. you are not allowed to get behind the wheel of a car without taking lessons and passing a test!
Dogs are living with owners who are incompetent, lazy, arrogant and aloof and often lack the self confidence to be a responsible dog owner.
I’m not even referring to XL Bullies, I see it on a daily basis with ALL breeds.
If you don’t understand the everyday needs of a dog (and no it’s not just take it for a walk 3 times a day!!) you shouldn’t be allowed to own one!
Now the XL Bully is to be banned, will that stop these attacks? If every owner sticks to the rules then yes it should, but these owners don’t think they are the ones the rules apply to! These owners wanted a big scary dog (that if truth be known THEY are probably scared of too). These owners thought it was funny to let their dog intimidate others.
These owners wanted to prove their dog didn’t need to be on a lead (or even a collar). These owners have let down this big beautiful breed and the dogs will have to pay!
This country needs to wake up to the demands of dog ownership - stop humanising/babying your dogs.
Only get a ‘working’ breed if it’s actually going to be put to work or you can invest breed appropriate time and effort.
Breeders need to be strictly regulated and ‘vet’ each owner according to the their knowledge and capability.
It’s very sad that innocent people have lost their lives and suffered injuries due to these irresponsible owners! Shame on them!

Hugo has settled in so well to his new routine ♥️ he’s got a new little human being delivered soon so things are gonna be a little different at home for a while. His pawrents decided to move him from a day care setting to group walks with us. Today, I was over the moon to hear they feel he is a lot happier with this new arrangement 🥰🐾🥰
Day care can create a lot of unwelcome stress to dogs, it’s busy and noisy and dogs often don’t get the much needed quiet/alone time they need. When Hugo joined our walks he was showing some nervousness but after a couple of weeks his confidence has grown and he’s loving being one of the gang! Well done Hugo you get the ⭐️of the week! 😊

Love him or hate him, he’s absolutely right. I feel sorry for the poor dogs that have to live with these moron owners who let them down and set them
up for failure on a daily basis!!!!! 😢🤬
