This trail is great for hiking, running, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

Dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead.

This is a pleasant walk that includes a variety of landscapes, including lush woodland. It is an easy-going route which is suitable to most abilities.

The paths are easy to follow and there are only light hills. Come with sturdy walking shoes or wellies as it can become muddy.

You are likely to see deer in the forest. Please follow the guidelines about marksmen conducting deer culls. They ask that dogs are kept close and people stay on footpaths

Versatility and extraordinary comfort are on offer in this lovely Cornwall property, a perfect place to stay for man and dog alike.

You can set tails wagging with a stay on this wonderful Mid Cornwall resort, a place where kids can enjoy a play area and zip wire on-site whilst adults relax on the decking or in two lounges indoors.

Happily hosting eight guests and two dogs, this thoughtfully laid-out two-storey accommodation provides an extremely enviable base for your next getaway with the whole pack.

With Scandinavian styling and ample space throughout, this accommodation really is a true home-from-home.

Stop off at the decking and give any wet paws or muddy fur a good shake down with a doggy towel before venturing inside.

With two spaces to relax indoors, the lounge that’s part of the ground-floor lounge/kitchen/diner and the upstairs sitting room, your dogs have a big decision as to whom they want to keep company whilst relaxing on an evening.

If we’re certain of one thing it’s that come dinner time they’ll be standing to attention in the kitchen/diner, eager to catch any falling scraps. When night falls, let sleeping dogs lie on their favourite dog beds from home as you venture off to bed, finding four super-versatile zip-and-link bedrooms across both floors.

You may need to keep a close eye on your pup when relaxing in the outdoor space, as the area is unenclosed and therefore dogs might be at risk of escaping.

You can, however, take a short trip to the fantastic beach at Watergate Bay (9.5 miles) to allow your dog the freedom to run on the sand till their heart’s content – don’t forget your tennis balls!

For doggos who are less keen on sand and saltwater, the inland countryside spot of the Goss Moss National Nature Reserve (9 miles) sits ready to be explored.

This trail is great for camping, hiking, and running, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

Dogs are welcome and may be off-lead in some areas.

This is a circular route from the village of Wilcot in Wiltshire.

The trail leads you through the pretty village, with lots of thatched cottages and a beautiful church and manor house, before heading out through the countryside with views of the withy bed.

The return leg follows the towpath along a rural stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal, with lots of wildlife to enjoy.

Enjoy this canal walk along the Kennet and Avon Canal near Devizes. A good area for a run or stroll with the whole family. You will have plenty to look at including locks and riverboats.

The path beside the canal is well maintained and easy underfoot. And, there are plenty of places in town and close to the canal path for you to get a bite or refreshment.

To the left you will see the characterful kitchen, which is beautifully well equipped for anyone to whip up a family meal whilst socialising on the grand dining table. There is also a handy utility and cloakroom.

All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, making this the ideal set up for couples as well as families holidaying here.

On the ground floor you will find a king-size bedroom and a double bedroom, complete with bi folding doors leading to the terrace.

Head upstairs to find the remaining two exquisite bedrooms; one master room with king-size bed, its own dressing room and balcony with sea views, and one twin room with a Wii console and sea view balcony.

Old and New Wardour Castles Loop

Explore this 6.8-km circular trail near Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 59 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead.

Easygoing walk in the countryside surrounding the atmospheric ruins of Old Wardour Castle. This trail spans over 4 miles of stunning countryside, great for walking the dog(s) or taking in the local history.

If you do bring your dog(s) along for the adventure, please be aware that there are gates and livestock nearby, as well as roads and historical sites that might have varying rules regarding dogs.

This trail covers both Old and New Wardour Castles, so lots to see along the way. Expect varied terrain, from grassy verges, to uneven rocky areas and woodland paths that might get a little muddy underfoot! Old Wardour Castle has some great amenities such as the gothic pavilion, a café, plenty of space to have a picnic, a gift shop, toilets and limited parking.

You can even venture atop the castle to take in the views! Enjoy!

Walking The Dog Just Got Easier

My name is Sam. I started Paddywhacks from scratch four years ago, posting fliers through letterboxes, pinning ads in the Post Office window and accosting dog walkers everywhere I went to help spread the word I had landed.

Having lost my own dog and been utterly devastated, I desperately missed canine company and also being out in the fresh air, walking regularly. So I started with one client, then another came along, then another, then another. Fast forward four years and we are now a team of five (yes five!) wonderful walkers who are dedicated to taking care of your furbabies as if they were our own.

We walk, we talk, we breath doglets. We live to exercise your pet pooches to the very best of our ability, in the most exciting of environments and providing different adventures every single day.

We offer an ad hoc service and can be as flexible as you need. We have clients who only come to us for help when they are on holiday right the way down to the regular every-dayers, some weekenders and even bank holidayers. Whatever you need ,we do our best to accommodate and can guarantee the happiness of your dog whilst in our care.
