We’re officially on holiday!

My phone will be off for most of the days, I will have no signal for a lot of it. And when I do have signal don’t be offended if I cancel a call immediately. We’re having a work free time! All messages will be replied to when we’re back in work 😊

Just a gentle reminder on a few dog rules/laws in the uk. You can be fined for all of these laws below but I see them daily in the salon. These laws are for the safety of your own dog and other citizens. We all forget things from time to time so it’s good to have a refresher 😊(plus a happy mousse on a sunny Wednesday to brighten the day)

Poo bags!
Dog walkers can even be given a fine for failing to produce a dog poo bag when walking their pets in public. While the charges can vary from council to council, refusing to pay up can land you with a day in court, and a £1000 fine.

Identity tags!
Any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the owner's name (initial and surname), address and postcode engraved or written on it, or engraved on a dog identity tag

Leads! (This is guidance not law but if you dog causes an accident it may be deemed “out of control” which is an offence)
You should keep your dog on a lead, as stated in the Highway Code, when walking by any road to prevent accidents

Cars!
Your dog must be suitably restrained so they cannot disturb the driver of the car. You are expected to put them in a dog crate, pet carrier, or dog harness or use a dog guard for the car's boot.

So I’ve decided to start testing out some new products! Mousse is the chosen guinea pig currently, how happy he is about that I’m not sure 😂

I’ve wanted to trail them for a while but always stuck to what I knew. So far I’ve only tested the black pepper but all I can say is I’m very impressed!

Peanut and pickle is a wonderful brand with many plus points some of which being
- a uk company
- all ingredients sustainably sourced
- palm oil free
- plant based
- transparent ingredients lists
- vegan friendly

I may well be bringing in a luxury groom package soon. I understand not everyone can afford higher quality products. But I believe in how these are sourced and made 🥰 so it will be an optional. Not only is it better for you and your dog, it’s better for the environment and we all need to do our bit! If it’s something you’d be interested in seeing/supporting please let me know, I’ll happily trail it fully if there’s enough support.

We are officially finished for the year!

There’s a few changes coming next year. Sally will unfortunately be leaving us but we are so happy to be supporting her in her new venture of her own salon ❤️ we wish her all the best of luck.

Hi everyone, we are looking forward to seeing you this festive period!

Just a couple of notes
Please please make sure you’re on time for your appointments. This is my busiest time of year along with summer so even 5 ministers can wack our whole day off. That also means dropping off half an hour early is also hard as I only have space for so many dogs. If you need to be early drop off/late pick up please tell me prior to your appointment so I can make arrangements.

If you can pay cash please do. I’ve just finished my tax return for this year and my charges on card payments are now ridiculous! I do all I can to avoid price increases. You paying with cash will help keep those rises away. Bank transfer is also an option if you don’t carry cash but it must be paid for prior to collecting your dog.

If you haven’t yet booked a Christmas appointment and would like one… I now have 3 official places left. BUT if you message me soon while I’m not exhausted at the start of December I may well squeeze a couple of extras in 👀 also first 2 weeks of January is full so if you’ll want one in Jan might be best to pop a message over too.

The importance of puppy grooms!

I’ve had a couple of lovely puppy’s in recently with the owners following all advice at home to make their dogs the most comfortable while being groomed. It really does make the world of difference to get them in young. As much as I disagree with the “don’t get dogs cut until 12months” statement. If you don’t want them cut that’s not a problem but please please for yours, theirs and whoever the future groomers will be sake, take them in. Let them play. Teach them to be comfortable.

WE ARE OPEN

Water is back in normal supply, I look closer still as I’m keeping the shutters down to stop the sun on the window. Please don’t think I’m not here when turning up for your appointments.

Traffic/parking is a bit of a night mare so where possible walk or park as far away as you can as the roads at the back of the shop are awful! You can still drive all the way down to Sainsbury’s car park from that side which also seems to have the least traffic when I’ve been checking. Any problems please let me know!

!!SALON CLOSED!!

Due to a burst water main outside the salon. There is currently no guarantee I will have water today consistently. There was no water this morning while I have been checking.

Hi everyone. Unfortunately tonight I have dropped my work phone and its beyond salvage. I have ordered a new phone which should arrive tomorrow. So I spent yesterday learning proper breed standard of Bedlingtons ❤️ they’re one of my favourite dogs and love working with them.

I would just like to remind people that I am one person.
Recently I’ve had more and more clients not turning up, sending repeated messages on all platforms at all times and days of the week. 3 groomers in Worcester have closed down now.

If I am slow to reply to you I apologise but unfortunately I don’t have enough hours in the day to get back to everyone instantly. I try to do half an hour every morning when I get in. But unfortunately that’s not been enough recently. I already have enough work to take home so I don’t like replying an my evenings. I promise I will get back to you sending me 5 more messages doesn’t make me do it quicker. If you’ve missed an appointment expect a slower reply as my priority is booking people in who message me first not who didn’t turn up yesterday. Let alone the fact I have other dogs to groom that need my attention.

Just be kind and patient please. I am one person and if you feel the need to be rude about me not replying within an hour then I’m not the groomer for you.

Next years diary’s are here and ready!

Anyone wanting to forward book for the year as always send me your preferred day, time and weekly gap and I’ll sort them out for you.

Something to note for people who don’t normally do this. I am cutting down my hours next year. Long story short I need a work life balance which up until now has been non existent 😅 this does mean obviously I will have less appointments. To add to this Cherize will be leaving us soon which makes for even less room. I should still have plenty of room for all of my regulars however if you aren’t booked in and call last minute expect a longer wait to get in.

Just a little note to say we’re now finished for a week and off on our holidays!

The girls have thier new crates to travel in by Hamster Baskets Dog Cages & Freezer Baskets who have done an amazing job. Anyone who doesn’t have a set up for your car crates are by far the safest way for them to travel!

And also lunas new float coat for my peace of mind while she tries to swim off to another country and I can’t keep up! 😅

Safety is always our biggest priority with any dog so thank you to all who have recently moved around due to the heat. I know the early starts haven’t been enjoyed by us all! 🤣

Just for the people who don’t know. I have decided to close for the next two days. It’s far too hot to be grooming a dog let alone travelling them to me to be groomed.

My dogs will only be getting 15 minute walks at 4:30am before the sun comes up! Some dogs might look like they enjoy the heat but they need to be told no at times. Mine are mental and will run and play until I tell them to stop. This is incredibly dangerous on days like today if not managed correctly.

I hope everyone is taking a leaf out of lunas book and hiding from the sun and staying near water.

Just something to be aware of if you have artificial grass/Astro turf. It gets incredibly hot!

Please please be aware of how dangerous these temperatures are for dogs. Walks even in the shade with these temperatures are a Nono! Early mornings and late nights only.

Anyone with an appointment please drive as close as possible to the shop and when you can carry them in. Even a few steps on the pavement can burn their pads. I’m doing my best to keep the salon cool with air on but obviously the dryers are fighting me. So appointments may vary in length to make your dogs as comfortable as possible.

Hi everyone, please bare with me I’m moving house this week so I won’t be in work much. Everyone that is booked, don’t worry I will be in! If not a bit stressed 😅

I am personally moving out of Worcester but the salon is staying as it is. I have no plans to move the business. Just encase anyone else wonders.

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas!

Unfortunately as much as I’ve tried to put this off I’m now having to have a price increase. The bills the past few months have rocketed as I’m sure you’ve all felt to but unless I increased my prices the business won’t be viable to run.

This is only £2/3 for most of you but some of you that I do cheaper anyway may have a bit more of a jump. It will be on a dog by dog basis. Depending on how frequently you visit and the condition your dog comes to me. For example all Cockapoos are going from £42 to £45. But obviously those that are already £45 may also increase.

So this marks the end of another year! Thank you everyone who has supported my little salon I’ve loved every second.

We’ve had a very very busy December this year. A grand total of 178 dogs (185 when you include mine) I am officially broken and am going off to hibernate now 😅 thank you for everyone who got us a little something to help us through the long days.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and we’ll see you all again in The new year. I’m back in on the 4th Jan. I won’t be answering my phone over the break but if you need me leave a message and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

A bit about me.

I have been working as a professional groomer full time since I left college 5 years ago. I currently own 6 dogs. I have always been around dogs and train and compete with my own all over the country so I am very experienced with handling many different dogs. I always take a gentle reward based approach to anything I do with dogs and I treat yours as if they were mine for the time that they are left with me. Most of my dogs are rescues so I’m very used to dealing with difficult dogs who have many issues. Every dog is different and takes time to feel at ease, my main responsibility is doing so for every dog with what is best for them.
