We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to our lovely clients for nominating us for the "BBC Make a Difference Awards" 🤩.

Come rain 🌧 or shine ☀️ we set out each day in our ambulance 🚑 - aiming to help people with their pets across the county.

We are so very humbled to think that the little business idea 💡we had just over 2years ago has made a difference ☺️ . Everyones support has made a difference to us too - we are very lucky being able to provide veterinary care how our clients would like - because we are a small (but mighty 💪) independent practice.

For the love of dogs 🐶 - our friend Jill is taking to the streets to power walk an entire marathon for charity🚶‍♀️

All dogs are special, but Jill is especially passionate about the care of our Retired Police Dogs (RPDs) - after all she has taken on 3 RPDs over the years. Latterly she cared for Murphy "the main man" until the grand age of 14 1/2 years old before he sadly passed earlier this year 💜 🌈

Jill knows first hand about the additional medical needs 🩼 💊 many police dogs have when they reach retirement. The provision of this care is heavily reliant on charitable donations to the Retired Police Dog Welfare fund. Such a great fund that helps to keep them happy and on their paws 🐾🐾 in their twilight years.

These dogs give so much through their work and what they do is truly incredible. 🤩

"Deacon" the dog - full of the joys of Spring 🌷🐶💚

Thank you Ingrid for sending us such a lovely review. It has been our pleasure helping Deacon to give him such a wonderful new lease of life - bring on Summer ☀️, especially with his new hair style ✂️

We are very privileged ☺️ to make such a difference with our little home visit service 🏠 🚑

"A friend recommended My Home Pet Vet when I was in real despair over the state of my anxious Romanian rescue dog. He had been rescued from the most terrible of circumstances.

I'd had Deacon for 14 months, he was completely shut down and mainly lived in his crate. He became increasingly overgrown and unkempt but would not let me touch him so I could not groom him or bathe his eyes. I felt a complete failure.

Thank goodness I found Carl and Jess - from the initial contact through the first visit and subsequent interventions they were reassuring, none judgemental and so kind.
It took 3 hours for Deacons mat of fur to be removed under general anaesthetic, outside my house in the mobile ambulance. His claws were trimmed, teeth, ears and a**l glands checked over . I didn’t recognise the little dog that ran into the garden and held his head up to the sun, it was a very special moment.

Carl uncovered that Deacon had a very painful oral fissure so half of the roof of his mouth had been eaten away by infection and was a long standing problem. No wonder this poor boy was so withdrawn he must have been in such pain and discomfort.
6 weeks on with painkillers and antibiotics Carl did an amazing operation to repair his mouth and remove a few rotten teeth along the way.

A month on I think I have a new dog, he is much happier and enjoys a fuss and lots of stroking and cuddles. I can see a happy little dog emerging after all his years of pain.

I can’t praise Carl enough for his skill and compassion and for giving Deacon a new life.

Well this just made our day 🥰 💛 🐶. In recent weeks we have been looking after Katie the Golden retriever who is an absolute angel - and of course her mum Brenda. We are so privileged to do the job we do and use our skills to help where we can. Katie isn't a fan of the vets so it has made such a difference investigating her unusual condition 🩺 and providing her aftercare at home 🏠 following a brief trip to our practice hub for an operation ✂️🪡. We are so thrilled that Katie is well on the road to recovery and is getting back on her paws again 🐾 🥰 🎉

Meet Jess our Registered Veterinary Nurse 🐾🩺🩹 and Ambulance Co-pilot! 🚑🗺

Jess helps with all aspects of practice life at My Home Pet Vet. Once she has navigated us to our next appointment, she then administers a dose of reassuring cuddles 🫂 ❤️to our patients during their consultation. But its not all cuddles - Jess also plays a vital role when we need to operate on your pet - and keeps them safe under anaesthesia. 👩‍⚕️

And it doesn't end there.....✏️ Jess also offers home visit nurse appointments to help with many aspects of routine healthcare - including nail trims, a**l gland emptying, medication administration, & post-operative checks to name a few.

Our mobile service provides your vet, no further away than your own driveway! MY HOME PET VET "does what it says on the van", and aims to provide veterinary care for your pet in the comfort of their own home. It's been a busy 4 months since our official opening seeing patients across our area. We have put together some answers below to a selection of frequently asked questions from our lovely pet owners.

🩺 What type of appointments do you see? All types of appointments that a traditional practice would see - puppy/kitten vaccinations, booster vaccinations, microchipping, health checks and poorly pets, same day investigation and treatment, end of life care.

💊 Can I get my pet's medication from you? Yes indeed we have a pharmacy that is stocked with medications for your pet's needs. Special order items are usually with us within 24hours. We are also able to offer home delivery of your pet's medications.

🚑 What if my pet needs and operation? Our fully equipped veterinary ambulance enables us to perform most operations and dental procedures at your home. For times where bricks and mortar facilities are needed we use our host practice.

🗺 Do you cover our area? We are centred around Worcester, but also cover towns of Malvern, Droitwich, Bromyard, Ledbury, Pershore, Evesham, Upton-upon-Severn. 😁 Will I see the same Vet or Nurse twice? Yes we firmly believe continuity of care plays a really important role in the successful treatment of your pets.

👨‍👩‍👧 Are you owned by a corporate business? No, unlike many veterinary practices we are a family business - aiming to serve our local community of pets and their owners.

💵 How do we pay? We are able to accept cash, or card payments using our mobile card machine.

✏️ Do you deal with insurance? Yes indeed we are able to process insurance claims exactly like a conventional practice would.

💰 Are you more expensive than a bricks and mortar practice? We aim to be competitive with our pricing and find that usually the only difference is our £7.50 home visit fee.

🐶🐱🐰 Do you offer a health plan for pets? Yes we do for cats, dogs and bunnies too! They allow budgeting for regular parasite treatments, annual vaccinations and some additional perks too! Here is one of our older patients having his blood pressure checked today ⭐. Just like us - cats and dogs can get white coat syndrome 🥼 when they are at the surgery, so it was really useful to get an accurate blood pressure reading whilst he was relaxed and having a cuddle in the comfort of his own home. What a cutie. 🐾 😽 🏚 ❤️

We had a great opening week visiting the pets across our area. This gorgeous pair “Min” and “Max” were chillin’ when we came to see them. “Max” hasn’t even lost all his baby teeth yet and he was so good for his check up - he even let us look all the way to the bottom of his amazing ears - we thought he deserved a little rosette. 🥰 🐾 🏅
