For our next post, we asked Abby "How did you get into grooming?". Here's what she said...

"Since I was younger I always wanted to work with animals and as I got older dog grooming really took my fancy. In 2020 I got a beagle puppy from one of Dawn's friends and I happened to mention I wanted to get into dog grooming. She told me about Dawn and The Dog House and that she was looking for staff members, so I got in touch. I was extremely excited to get a trial shift which then lead to me getting a job as a dog washer. I then got into the doggy daycare side and eventually started my iPet Level 3 grooming qualification, as well as grooming along side, which I completed in 2022.

I’m so happy to have a job I enjoy as I think that’s very important; I can’t help but feel very lucky!"

We're lucky to have yet another fantastic team member, and it's been great to see you progress in your career over your time with us!

The very cute and fluffy Woody visited us last week for his first puppy grooming session. He was a little bundle of fun and thoroughly enjoyed his 15 minutes with us!

What did Woody have done when he visited? He took a tour of the salon, had a health check, had a brush and comb, and had a little trim around the face, bum and bits, plus a little nail trim. He was also introduced to the toothbrush!

On collection, his owner was given a little bit of homework to do - nothing difficult, just practicing having his face held which is very common homework to give out!
