🐕 Exposure: Play fireworks sounds on YouTube at a low volume in the background. This can help desensitise your dog to the noises. Start early if possible, but avoid this if your dog is already very anxious.
🧥 Snoods & Calming Blankets: Dog snoods or weighted blankets can provide a comforting pressure, almost like a gentle hug, and help block out some of the noise.
🧘♀️ Calming Sprays & Plug-ins: I personally use Adaptil in the grooming cabin and at home. It's a calming pheromone plug-in that can help ease anxiety—perfect to turn on in the early evening before fireworks start.
👪 Company: Stay with your dog during the fireworks, as your presence will be reassuring. We make sure not to go out on nights we expect fireworks.
🔉 Background Noise: Drown out the fireworks with the TV or radio to help keep your pup distracted.
