I’m sure your dog is happy with their lead walk, they could be happier though.
Bruno’s whistle recall is getting really good.
Off lead dog walk
It’s so important to allow dogs to use their noses while on a walk. Being able to follow their noses and explore is so enriching for them, not to mention tiring too.
Smouldering eye contact from the mighty Bruno.
Bruno being Bruno. Some training footage from a week or two ago with The Cumbrian Dog Trainer - Rachel and Hulk. Bruno’s owner had arranged some training prior to me walking him. I use Rachel with my own dog and can’t recommend her highly enough for any of your training requirements.
This session we were training Bruno’s recall and building his engagement with his handler. He did very well. Just needs to work on staying on his feet.
The only thing to do on a hot day. Short shaded walk and a long swim.
Not the weather to be tramping round the streets.
This mornings walk having a splash about and frolicking.
A walk like this will alleviate some of the guilt you feel when you leave your dogs at home to go to work. Look how much fun they’re having. So much more enriching and tiring for them than being dragged house to house round town.
Training Tuesday. The Emergency stop is a very important command to teach your dog. A potential life saver.
If your dog bolts across a road after something, sometimes recall isn’t the safest way to retrieve them as you don’t want them to cross the road again. The emergency stop means your dog will stand in place until it’s either safe to recall them or you can go and get them.
Enjoying the sunshine this morning. I doubt it’ll last though.
I’m not sure I’d like to explain to an owner that their dog had been shot. Always put them on their leads while near livestock.
On one hand I do enjoy walking when the weather isn’t great, it’s quieter and I can generally get a park. It’s just a shame for the dogs that would be out getting a great walk if it was nicer weather. Most dogs don’t care about the weather.
Stayed out of the mud today.
Lucky enough to spot an osprey on this mornings walk. Unfortunately I only had my phone, will take my camera tomorrow and hope it comes back.
Every dog owner already knew this.
Looking sharp. Also possibly the dirtiest dog I’ve ever seen today.
This mornings walk was a cold one
Emergency stops are potential life savers.
It is very rewarding when the time and effort you’ve put into training pays off.
The whistle training quite possibly preventing the demise of a small furry creature in the forest today
