Great behaviour session today with Kyla, her reactivity towards other dogs is certainly getting better and today she learnt how to walk nice in the presence of another dog without interacting or without going over threshold and reacting to Dave (my Mali)

Puppy class Tickhill starting Saturday
22nd March at 9am. Limited spaces

All new Dog club Owsten Ferry starting Sunday 23rd March 12pm.
Group training every Sunday, covering obedience, trick training, behaviour, scent work and more. Fun friendly outdoor training.
All breeds welcome (reactive dogs need to have been assessed before hand)

All classes have Parking and onsite toilet facilities.

Many don’t know this information! Remember every second matters during a choking incident.
1. Place the dog on their back. Brace the back against the floor. Straddle the dog while adjusting yourself based on the size of the dog. Position the head in “in-line position” with the airway parallel to the floor.
2. Make an open diamond shape with your hands. Place your thumbs on either side of the trachea below the ball or object. Grip the “V” of the jaw using lip/cheek to protect fingers.
3. Push with a J-stroke down and out against the ball until it ejects from the mouth.
Both this method and the Heimlich method has been proven to work in these scenarios so don’t hesitate to save your dog.

Kyla the assistance dog is getting very close to taking her public access test and her training levels to become a fully trained assistance dog. She was amazing at Bentley gala, there was so much noise, music, other dogs, lots of people, fair ground rides and even alpacas. Kyla didn't batter an eye lid and breezed through it and took it all in her stride. Little Millie has had a couple of sessions for reactivity towards people and dogs, she has been doing great and as you can see she's quite close to a large group of people and it didn't bother her. Dogs being close is still a work in progress but there's certainly a huge difference.
