🐰Day 2🐰

Making sure your rabbit is up to date with their treatments such as vaccines and fly strike treatment can help to prevent serious health problems.

Neutering rabbits will reduce aggression in males and decrease the risk of female rabbits developing cancer in the uterus. Unlike dogs and cats, rabbits can sometimes need their teeth trimming as well as their nails but this doesn’t apply to all.

As the UK enters a four-day hot weather warning, here’s a guide on when you should and shouldn’t walk your dog in the heat.

Remember, a dog has never died from skipping a walk, but dogs have died from heat stroke.

🐰Day 1🐰

Most of a rabbits diet should come from feeding hay. Whilst carrots🥕 and treats should be given occasionally as they contain large amounts of sugar. Fresh water should also be available all the time as they drink around 50-150ml a day depending on their diet.

FOODS TO AVOID: chocolate, cooked greens, fruit pips, iceberg lettuce and daffodils.

Rabbits don’t get all the nutrition the first time they eat their food so they eat their poo💩!! They should do around 200-300 poos a day and should keep moving to aid their digestion.

If you have any left over Pringle tubes, please could you save the lids and bring them to our Worthing branch. They will be used in our wildlife ward to keep flies away from food.

It’s baby season!! 🐣

These cuties start appearing at this time of year. So if you find baby wildlife, have a look around the nearby area to see if you can find a nest or mother. If you can and the baby isn’t injured it is best to put them back as being in a human environment like the vets can be very stressful for them and can even cause death.

🦊 fox cubs are often seen alone as their mothers let them go hunting as practice. Most of the time they are close by watching them. So unless they are injured it is best to leave them.🦊

WARNING: they may be cute but don’t forget they are wild animals so don’t approach unless necessary ⚠️

Our OOH team had this handsome boy handed in last night. Brought to us all the way from Garden Crescent in Barnham. Unfortunately he is not microchipped so we are calling around other veterinary clinics in that area to see if they have any information on this handsome chap.
