Last week our behaviour team were invited into Grove Lodge Veterinary Group to do a presentation on bite prevention to their staff.

This included:

🐾 What the clients could do at home.

🐾 What could be put in place in the waiting room.

🐾 Support in the consult room.

🐾 What to implement behind the scenes in the kennels and cattery.

It was lovely to see that Grove Lodge have already got so much support in place for their furry clients.

We are so passionate on educating how we interact with animals in general - be it at the vets, pet shops, primary schools, our training classes and our training & behaviour consults ☺️

This week our nurses had a visit from Pet Professionals. They gave us lots of useful tips and tricks for helping our nervous patients stay calm.

If you have a nervous pet, why not visit one of our nurses for a friendly pet visit to help concur their fears. We will be using the new fear-free training in practice and can give you advice if needed.

Introducing Vanessa Tobias VN. Offering Mobile clinic, pet sitting, pop ins and pet taxi.

Vanessa is a long term friend of ours and was a very welcomed addition to the Pet-Professionals family a few years ago.

Vanessa is a qualified Veterinary nurse and lives in Shoreham with her family and pets.

She covers Shoreham, Southwick, Steyning and surrounding areas and offers a mobile clinic for nail clipping, dematting of fur, gland emptying, medication administering, cat sitting, pet taxi, puppy pop ins and private dog walking!

📣 Meet the team!

We are thrilled to have another qualified dog trainer and behaviourist on our team who shares the same ethos, passion, kindness, and thirst for knowledge that we do.

Sarah Kelly lives in Worthing with her husband, Sam, and their rescue English Bull Terrier, Prea.

She is a certified canine behaviourist with the ICB, a KAD-approved professional, an ABTC-registered animal training instructor and a certified Fear Free professional. Her passion lies in helping alleviate stress and anxiety in dogs (and their owners), and she has a particular interest in handling situations, such as visits to the vet or groomer.

Sarah loves Canine Cooperative Care, which builds trust and strengthens bonds. She trialled this approach with her own rescue dog, Prea, and has now completed her Level 3 certification.
After a short break from studying to get married, Sarah intends to restart soon, so there will undoubtedly be new qualifications to add in the near future!

📣 INTRODUCING OUR NEW PUPPY PRE SCHOOL COURSE! 🙌🏻

Offering early support prior to vaccinations:

It has been shown that learning in the first 12 weeks of life reaps the biggest rewards for the smallest of input. Don’t miss this opportunity to find out what’s important to do now, before you can attend our in person classes and how to do it safely.

Our puppy pre-school classes are for young pre vaccinated puppies 8-12 weeks.

🐾 Run by a fully qualified behaviourist and veterinary nurse.

🐾 Virtual course to get an essential head start safely with an option for in person training once vaccinated.

🐾 WhatsApp group for full support and help on hand.

🐾 Learn basic skills and games as well as the triangle of success and how to create a harmonious household with a new puppy.

🐾 15 minutes for Q and A every week to provide bespoke advice for you individual journeys.

The course is £50.00 or £70.00 with the optional social training walk at the end of the course.

🥳 The fabulous Pet-Professionals team enjoyed some Christmas festivities at our AGM recently...

We covered our updates for the last year..

🐾 Now offering Dog Reiki and massage from new team member Nicky.

🐾 A welcome to latest new team members Chrissie, Nicky and Christina.

🐾 Team member Jolene became a certified dog trainer and pet first aid trainer with the Dog Training College. We will shortly be offering dog first aid training to the public.

🐾 Rosie completed her Diploma in Foundations of Canine Behaviour Management with Compass Education.

🐾 Hayley completed her Animal welfare QLS level 4 and is now undertaking her Animal care QLS levels 2.

🐾 Sarah Kelly completed her level 5 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour. She also became a certified canine behaviourist with the ICB and is now a member of the UK dog charter.

Congratulations guys! 🥳

We looked at our growth over the last year and where we can grow further to offer more to our clients and their pets.

We also celebrated some 10 year anniversaries for some of the team…

A HUGE thank you to Vikki, Karen, Jolene and Anneka 🙌🏻

We are so incredibly proud of our team and the level of commitment they show on a daily basis to us and to their clients. So often they go above and beyond and this is testament to how much they care.

Meet the team 👋🏼

Pete lives in East Preston with his partner Kate who has previously worked with us at Pet-Professionals.

Peter was the co-owner / director of a Bulgarian street dog rescue charity "Twitchy Noses" fostering and re-homing abandoned and stray dogs across Europe and the UK. As such he has gained vast experience of working with extreme cases of animal neglect, malnutrition, illness and injury.

In 2010 he also set up "The Neuter Network"- a UK registered Bulgarian charity providing free neutering to villagers who owned dogs and cats, as well as offering education of nutrition and health care of their animals.

Pete offers boarding for dogs in the comfort of his own home. Being currently pet free means we can now offer our clients exclusive use for home boarding if required, perfect for dogs who prefer to be the centre of attention 🥰

Pete is a certified dog first aider, licensed and insured dog boarder and day carer. License number 117436.

Sarah is an ABTC Animal behaviour technician (pending), IBC Canine behaviourist (pending), KAD approved professional, PACT accredited, ABTC registered and a Puppy School tutor.

Sarah is also a certified Elite Fear Free professional and her passion is to help alleviate stress and anxiety in dogs and cats (and their owners) when visiting the vets or being handled.

As a certified KAD professional (kids around dogs) Sarah is able to help families with children to train their dogs and live in harmony together. She can also help with children who are fearful of dogs.

Sarah offers canine behaviour packages and one to one training consults as well as group training classes.
