Sorong Indonesian (Tiliqua gigas gigas)
*Medium size lizard requires a minimum enclosure size of 4x2x2foot.*
These diurnal poikilothermic creatures will evidentially become extraordinary companion additions. Being Complacent and uncomplicated Tiliqua gigas gigas would enhance a family environment. Offering relations like no other.
What does that mean Vic?
Well to put it easy peasy these chaps are awake in the day so will fit a young persons school schedule.
They require different temps throughout the vivarium. Hot spot, warm spot, ok spot and a cool spot. Ranging between temps so skinki can regulate his own body temp.
They absolutly require for optimum health a 6inch deep substrate to burrow. To play to hunt to sleep in.
They absolutely require UVB lighting at 7% Arcadia T5 is the best on the market at this time. With Reptile systems giving them a run for the money coming in second.
Why UVB ? Well very basically it helps them to digest food intake and absorb nutrients from the food so stops them from getting sick.
(I can get all sciency if you like ๐) and yes all skinks will sit under a UVB bulb for a time.
Overhead Basking spot. YES they need a hot spot and YES they all use it. You may not see but they do.
They very much have to have a VARIED diet of worms, snails, locust, crickets, roaches, vegetation and fruit. These guys are natural scavengers and take what they can get from the forest floor. They will eat frogs and other small lizards in the wild and also take a bite out of decaying fruits.
Inside the viv you need logs and a substrate to dig, leaf litter is a must as they love it. Moss and plenty of hiding spots so lots of hides.
It is not scary, it is actually really simple once the right home and equiptment is in place.
We have home bred our blue tongueโs so can offer them up at an incredible price for what they are. They have been handled since birth and are super tame and friendly.
Do you know just how lucky the wrexham peo
