Feeding snakes **** DO NOT PANIC****

We have had several customers in this week,

“My snake is not eating”

First off it is really cold outside.

Check your temperature in your vivarium with a THERMOMETER.

Do not rely on the THERMOSTAT setting you must check the temps properly.

This time of year your thermostat is working hard.

It can wear out and stop working.

Check your temps manually !!!

Second,

Some snakes do not eat in winter month’s NATURALLY.

You can take a snake out of nature but you cannot take nature out of the snake.

****It will behave according to it’s surroundings. ****

Stop handling if you want it to eat and warm it up. The snake needs heat to digest its food correctly. If the weather is bitter cold the ambient temps in your room will not be sufficient. The snake also NEEDS to rest and be left alone to digest its dinner!!!

Only a few of us have special reptile rooms at home where the room temps are above 28’C

So again check your temperatures.

Work experience hard at it today on spot cleans and vivarium checks.

Fresh from college studying animal care and pet shop management level 3.
Christmas break is alomost over and we have got used to these chaps scurrying about so we will miss them on their return to collage next week.

Today we have covered all sorts in exotic animal care and the dreded paper records we keep.

At wrexham reptiles we provide an all round work experience with the reptiles and aquatics. Covering everything from natural habitats, captive habitats, health and welbeing of animal and keeper. Where to find proven science based information for further study and of course the correct way to handle with natural behaviours in mind.

This term’s workies have been outstanding!

Started from nothing.

All five of the crew have worked very hard, listened and then got on with the jobs. All have earn’t the vivarium keys quickly and have earnt the trust to be left alone to work.

We are very proud of all of you and want to wish you all the very best for next terms study.

Happy New year everyone 😊

From me and victoria, Sophie and Gazmanisthebest 🐶♥️.

We want to send out our thanks for supporting us through some pretty tricky times this past year. I mean i got my ball stuck under the trolley so many times.

We are here to support you our customers so please get in touch if you are in need of helpful advice with no judgement. Free hugs and face wash on arrival.

We also want to PRAISE all our work experience students for being just fabulous 😘

Honestly this seasons workies have been just brilliant. Very quiet though 🤔 must mean your soaking up all the knowledge 😁.

Well i have worked hard this year teaching you how to get my ball.

Ok so we will be back to giving out free face washes and helping with all your reptile and aquatic needs from tomorrow.

So guys Happy New year and may this one coming be the bestest in ball retrieving for you too. 😘

A pair of very well kept Must Turtles have come in for rehoming.

Beautifully well cared for but unfortunately things change and the lovely gentleman needed our help to rehome.

So up for homing in the new year with an odoption fee of course as we have to cover costs.

Complete set up with new heater and new lamp and UVB. Everything else is less 12 months old and in perfect as new working order.

Lovely active turtles that are not shy at all. Eat well and behave as they should.

Giant African Land Snails.

They make excellent pets and are fascinating to watch.

You don’t have to handle them but if you do you just need clean wet hands and they are happy to mooch about.

A large tank with a few inches of clean soil a clean water dish and fruit and veg.

They must also have calcium. Best way to provide this is in cuttlefish.

Babies will be available in the new year.

Indoor water garden anyone?

Small and tall and newly established. This set up is bout 5 months old.

It has a small water filter, pipe to form a water trickle down the bog wood. Planted above water with a Satin Pothos, Selaginella kraussiana and crystalwort mosses. There are more dormant water plants that we are waiting for spring for them to spring into life.
Lighted with Arcadia jungle dawn for plant growth. Slowly but surely we now have a growth spurt to reward the patience and it is looking good 😊.

There is alwys space even in the smallest of homes for a tiny garden.

No animals in this one.

But it may one day once fully established.
Suitable for small temperate fish too.

Isn’t she a stunner 🥰

Leopard gecko lady. Re gen tail so she is unique.

Lovely temperament and absolutly loves a routine. You can set your watch by this one. 4 pm she is out waiting for her dinner and cuddles.

So this makes her the perfect Children’s first reptile.

Always poops in the same place so super easy to clean.

She loves a head tickle and comes out to the call of a squeaky Vicky call (😂).

Eats medium locust and small meal worms with the occasional wax worm treat.

She loves her Tardis just as much as i do and is often found sat next to it.

Tempi has been in the shop 1 year now and i would love to find her own family for Christmas.

She is an Albino Temper and with this colouration she is not a huge fan of bright lights so her UVB is a soft 6% and only on for 2 hours at dawn and 2 hours at dusk.

She is a very special lady who has won the hearts of many children and adults here at Creature club on a Thursday so we are looking for her perfect home.

Call into store for details and to meet her.

Her furniture is to be sold with her as she genuinly loves it. I will of course discount to asure this.

If not purchasing a vivarium from us a minimum of 3 ft will be needed. 4 ft preferred.
