🌿 Why We Keep the Grass Longer In Winter 🌿

You might notice our fields looking a little wilder over winter, and we wanted to share why! Keeping the grass longer isn’t about skipping on the mowing – it’s a conscious choice to make the fields more enjoyable and comfortable for you and your dogs through the colder months.

Here’s how leaving the grass longer benefits everyone:

1️⃣ Natural Mud Control: Longer grass helps stabilise the soil and keeps mud at bay, especially in our high-traffic areas. Shorter grass exposes the soil, making it easier for mud to form – not ideal for anyone’s boots (or paws!). We did one last short cut mow a few years ago - big regret!

2️⃣ Extra Padding for Comfort: Longer grass creates a soft layer that helps reduce ground damage from the usual energetic play. It’s like nature’s own carpet, offering a bit of cushioning, even when the ground gets frosty or damp.

3️⃣ Better Drainage: Grass that’s allowed to grow a bit longer has denser roots, helping with drainage and preventing puddles. This way, we can keep the fields drier and more enjoyable to use, even when it’s wet outside.

4️⃣ Healthier Fields for Spring: Healthier grass in winter means it’s better prepared to bounce back in spring, keeping our fields looking green and lush as the seasons change.

Yes, it can make it a touch harder to spot a hidden poo or find a lost toy, but it’s a necessary step to keep our fields from turning into muddy bogs! 💩⚽️

So, while it may not look as manicured, letting the grass grow a little longer helps us create the best experience for you and your dogs. Thanks for understanding – and we hope you enjoy a less muddy winter with us! 🐾

(A few of our muddy spots like under adventures tap will be getting some extra ground treatment)🥰

We’ve all been there - see the dog doing their business, think ‘I’ll grab it in a minute,’ and then it’s mysteriously vanished when you go over 🫥👻

I’ve realised I need to stop lying to myself that I will find it, either that or the dogs have mastered phantom poos 💩 (or maybe my poo-finding skills just aren’t what they used to be).

On a serious note, if you spot an orphan poo, consider adopting it - especially if you’ve lost one of your own 😝!

🌟 New Session Time! Available in all three fields 🌟

We’ve had a few requests for a combined 30-minute and 50-minute session, but our booking system doesn’t allow them to be booked at the same time, unfortunately. So, we’ve added a 90-minute session (30 minutes + 50 mins + the 10-minute buffer in between) to make things easier! 🎉 It’s priced the same as booking the two sessions separately, but you get an extra 10 minutes! 😄
