All this info if on the button of your confirmation email but we wanted to post it here just to remind everyone!

A section of Old Wrexham Road (the road we are on!) is closed for 4 weeks.

🛑 What does this mean?
Turning right out of our driveway won’t be possible.
The Gresford village turning near The Plough Pub will also be inaccessible.
Don’t worry! You can still reach us using alternative routes.

🌿 How to get here during the closure:
• Approach from the A5156 or Pikey Lane.
• Many navigation systems (like Google Maps or Waze) may auto-update.

🗺️ Example Alternative Route:
If travelling from Chester, stay on the A483 until the Gresford roundabout (skipping the Rossett junction). From there, head towards The Flash, follow the road, and continue straight to our entrance.

Will this add time to my journey?
In theory it should only add an extra 1-2 mins on. But if you take the route such as directly off the Gresford roundabout it may be faster than previous routes you’ve taken!

⚡ Quickest Route Recommendation:
Due to other roadworks on Chester Road, the fastest route for most visitors will likely be via the A5156 and The Flash.

Even I’m shocked at how fast I’ve managed to put this up on my own! It wouldn’t be the festive season without some wild weather 🌬️, dog poo on my wellies 💩, but of course, the best bit – sneaking in cuddles with some lovely dogs 🐾❤️.

The screening should hold for now, but we’re continuing to explore long-term solutions. Thankfully, the extreme winds we’ve had aren’t typical, just frustrating how close together both events have been! 🌪️

A huge thank you to everyone for your understanding during this time. The fields may not look their absolute best at the moment, but we’re doing our best to keep things running despite the unprecedented weather. We know just how important giving dogs enrichment and exercise is during the festive period so we are doing our best to avoid blocking slots off as much as possible and opening up as much space as we can!

Really? What a surprise! Dogs in a harness don’t have pressure applied to their trachea (wind pipe); of course they are capable of pulling harder. This is actually evidence of the debilitating force being applied to the dog’s trachea and thyroid gland, but is being presented in a completely misleading way. The harness can’t stop pulling, that’s what training is for, it merely reduces risk and is far more humane than applying force to the neck. Completely irresponsible headline.

⛔️ Road Closures ⛔️
We have been messaging everyone as soon as we know about closures with directions. No one is informing us (probably because the work is urgent after storms and not planned). We have had both closures from fallen trees and now works on wires.

We have a feeling they will be back again tomorrow as lots of cones have been left. If they are working in the same place all customers need to come from “The Plough” / Gresford Village end of Old Wrexham Road (the road we are on). Not from the a5156 or from Pikey Lane. We will directly message everyone booked with info.

Please accept our apologies if we haven’t messaged you, just know, it was because we didn’t know at the time either! ❤️

A generous customer has kindly offered their 8:20am Adventure slot tomorrow to be used for charity if possible. ❤️
So if you know of a dog in need of a good run – perhaps one living in a rescue kennel or are fostering a dog from a charity – just send me a message and I’ll book you in.

Appreciate it’s last minute - If the slot isn’t filled, I’ll return it to the customer, and it will be made available on the website later on. 🥰

We’ve had a busy morning in Agility after Storm Darragh wreaked havoc over the weekend! 🌧️💨 Thank you all for your patience and understanding with reschedules - it means a lot. We’ve made significant progress, and Agility is looking much better and ready for dogs to run, jump, and play again! 🐾There are still a few areas across the fields to fix, but after this morning’s efforts, we’re pleased with how much we’ve accomplished. 🛠️🐕

We’ve had a busy morning in Agility after Storm Darragh wreaked havoc over the weekend! 🌧️💨 Thank you all for your patience and understanding with reschedules - it means a lot. We’ve made significant progress, and Agility is looking much better and ready for dogs to run, jump, and play again! 🐾There are still a few areas across the fields to fix, but after this morning’s efforts, we’re pleased with how much we’ve accomplished. 🛠️🐕

Free treats in Agility 😂 At the slight risk of dogs weeing on them I’ve chosen not to pick and eat these personally but blackberries are safe for dogs to eat 😁 You may have noticed we have cut back lots of brambles and the next task is to remove all this from hanging over the fencing ✅

Parking: We offer multiple spaces for cars on our farmyard with less than a minute walk to the Ryecroft field gate. The parking is on solid ground (we are located on a farm and throughout September-March the ground is likely to be muddy).

Field hire: The field hire is exclusive use, meaning you and your dog(s) get sole use of the field! We also run play sessions on the weekends for puppies/small dogs and larger dogs, please check our events!

Bookings: To make a booking we have an online system so that you can place bookings 24hrs a day, reschedule and cancel them yourself. www.ryecroftmeadow.com/book
