Some more info on heat stroke in dogs 🐾

How heat stroke can effect dogs is surprising and can be extremely serious, if not spotted. This is why it is important we have as much information as possible. That way we can look after our fur babies, the best we can.

Heat stroke can kill dogs!
While the Refuge generally welcomes leashed dogs on trails please be aware that at about 90 degrees, heat can become life threatening for healthy dogs.

Rangers provided aid for an overheated dog today. This dog is expected to recover.

Last year Rangers provided aid to a dog in severe heat distress and learned that after being transported to emergency vet, the dog passed.

Please take precautions to ensure your dogs safety if you choose to visit the Refuge during the current heat wave.
