Ivy had a Christmas groom at the weekend, trying to fit our own pooches in at this time is hard 😂 remember we do have a cancellation list online if you are hoping for a Christmas appointment and may have a few bathing spaces - breed depending!

We've FINALLY got round to doing our Christmas charity hamper! We make our own one every year and this year, with a bouncy toddler running around, we thought we would get a premade one from the lovely farm shop in hethersett

As always, all the money will be going to the local Dogs Trust branch,
The tickets cost £1 and the draw will be done end of the day on the 23rd December. As we have left it late, please let us know if you wish to buy tickets and we can give you the bank details if we won't be seeing you til next year, or pop in to the salon next time you come for a muddy walk or lunch at the cafe!

Thanks all! This is our 11th year I believe? (I will have to check!) Let's help some doggies out this Christmas 🥰

Finally... Our Christmas seasonal special is here and the photo sofa is all christmassy!

Our seasonal special this year:

Choose between our two scents this year
❄️ Snow fairy (sweet and smells like lush products 🥰)
🎁 Christmas spice (mild but spicy)

These are free for all walk in washes, bath and blow dries, mini grooms and full grooms appointments

OR you can upgrade for £5 to include:
❄️ A Christmas bandana
🎁 Toasted marshmallows facial (great for dirty, smelly beards, soft, kissable muzzles and LITERALLY IS THE BEST SMELL ON THE PLANET!)

You can add it on at time of booking or on the day!

Our Christmas charity hamper will hopefully we sorted this weekend, watch this space!

I know it seems early for some, but we have already started booking some of our regulars in for the whole of 2025

If there is a specific day or time of the week that you know you would want, we can block book you all the way to next Christmas!

We are changing our working hours for a better work life balance to work around Tommy's nursery hours, so our Fridays will now be shorter but we are working more Saturdays

Give us a shout if you wish for us to book your places next year 🐾

Warning**** our last December spaces are filling up. Luckily we do have our online waiting list so you will get an email straight away if anything pops up! For now we would recommend booking an appointment in November and the last of the December appointments so your dog isn't waiting 12 weeks for a January appointment!

Our last December spaces are as follows:
2nd December at 11.00
4th at 11.30 or 12.30
5th at 1.30
And we have now opened up spaces on the 16th at 9, 9.30, 11.00, 11.30, 1.00 and 3.00
There's a few spaces for spa treatments, express washes and nail trims scattered around too

Happy Friday everyone!

Finally relaxing after being in the salon 19 days (we don't open Sundays but salon jobs needed to be done) in a row - we will be closed tomorrow for a well deserved 2 day weekend 🎉

How often should you come in for grooming?
Short answer is - it depends!

Our rule of thumb is the fluffier you want, the more regular the groom. This is because more fur means there's more chance of matting, more mud, more soaking up puddles like a sponge so much more chances of matting!

So this is our recommendations:

🐾 Short coated dogs (eg. Labs, staffies) - when they're smelly or moulting (so some come twice a year, some once a month)
🐾 Shaved short dogs - 10-12 weeks
🐾 Short body, shortish legs, fluffier ears and tail - 8-10 weeks
🐾 Shorter body, fluffier legs - 6-8 weeks
🐾 Fluffy body, fluffy legs - 4-6 weeks
🐾 Full show coats eg. Shih tsus or show cockers - 4 weeks

The beautiful Charlie here, comes in every 6/7 weeks 🥰

What do we do on our weekends? We take our kids (the furry child and not furry child) on a nice muddy walk and then spend our Sunday giving Ivy a bath 😆 (that's 19 days in a row I've been in the salon!)

Ivy had our seasonal special which is free for October and November:

Let's talk shampoos!!

After 12 years of running the salon, we've tried so many shampoos to see what suits us more. We've taken into consideration the cleaning power, the gentleness on skin (for the dogs and our hands!), being UK based and all natural, vegan ingredients too. Most of our shampoos we use are from the Humble collection from Houndsly 🐾

Also... Can anyone spot our next seasonal special theme 👀 🦇
