⛅️ Hello everyone 👋🏼 ☔️

The news is here! I am starting my new grooming journey from Friday the 24th of November 2023! This means I am going to be slowly making a come back to grooming however a lot has changed since last September.

Firstly I am now in a completely new location which I understand will more than likely be too far away for most if not all of you. A lot of you knew we were renovating a house to call our family home in a place called Old Sodbury which we did finally move in to back in March. My original plan was to work from home but this isn’t looking likely. However, a lovely groomer, Cait, has offered me a great opportunity to rent a table from her beautiful salon called Pampered Paws which is located at Stanshawes Court Drive, Yate, BS37 4DZ. I have taken Cait up on her offer and will be starting on the 24th November.

Working hours will be limited to a Friday currently whilst I start out again due to not being able to find anymore childcare at this present time. Nursery waiting lists are so long! On the odd occasion I will be able to add in other days but with plenty of notice to allow me to find childcare around this. I do plan to be working 3-4 days a week again when I can.

If you do wish to travel to me for grooming I can highly recommend the cafe next door to Pampered Paws which is called The Vintage Bird Cage, there is also a large park and duck pond nearby, yate shopping centre and chipping sodbury high street with great restaurants and pubs and the common for miles of dog walks. There is lots to keep you occupied for a few hours to make the most of the travelling if you choose to.

Good morning everyone!

Just thought I would pop on to let you all know that I am now officially on maternity leave! With only 9 weeks left (hopefully) until our little baby girl arrives it was for the best to go on maternity a lot earlier than expected. I have a few things that I need to clear up with you all as I’ve heard all sorts of rumours so please have a little read to understand my decisions.

First things first, my business Tufty Paws Dog Grooming is and always has been my business and my business only. It has never and never ever will be co-owned, a shared business, sold on or anything else. It will always be my business name so if you hear any different please know that I have not sold my business to anyone. The only close thing I’ve ever had to sharing a business was when I had Jess from Tangles Grooming renting a table from my unit until she has made up her own client base to go out alone under her own name, a complete separate business to mine. (You can find Jess in Keevil Tangles Dog Grooming please note Jess is currently in Hawaii and will not be able to answer her phone but you can book online with her through her page but remember she isn’t grooming in Shaw anymore)

My plans- Currently I only know what I’m doing for the next few months so let me tell you below. Unfortunately as most of you know I have now closed the salon at Church Farm and have handed back the unit to the landlord meaning this salon will not be opening back up after my maternity. Here’s a few reasons why, the biggest being with rent and utilities becoming outrageously high there was just absolutely no way I could afford to enjoy time off with my first baby and keep the unit on that and some issues with it all anyway but let’s not get in to that. Secondly over the next year myself and Matt have some huge changes and events coming our way. For the past year and a half we have been trying to move house which has been a nightmare but we’ve finally picked up the keys this past week and renovation work will be starting soon, I have kept my grooming equipment and my table just incase I decide to go back into grooming in the distant future but this would be from our new home which is not too local to Melksham, it is about 45-60 minutes away, another reason for my decision to close the salon. I couldn’t justify driving every day to work when I have a baby, as most parents know if anything was to happen being at work an hour away is not going to work well.

We are also getting married in May! So not only are we welcoming our first baby into our little family, we are also taking on a huge renovation project to be our family home and we are getting married! Talk about doing things all at once!

So with all that being said I cannot tell you what my plans are after maternity, I will be keeping this page, my business name etc and I’ll let you all know when our baby arrives.

I have had some amazing memories with your dogs, dog sitting and walking as well as grooming, some dogs I’ve had with me since they were puppies and seeing them grow into the beautiful fur babies they are today has been such a pleasure. We’ve also lost a few over rainbow bridge 🌈 I’ve been through it all with you. Thank you for all of the baby gifts, chocolate, cards, flowers 💐 and everything in between. I can assure you all that the chocolates have gone down a treat and have kept me going the past few weeks 🤭

Now time to sit back and enjoy some peace and quiet, catch up on some missed sleep and enjoy eating food before this baby arrives!

Good morning 🐾 ☀️

Sorry I do not update this page much, it’s just so busy at work I never have time so I thought I would come on here to give you a quick update.

I am now 19 weeks pregnant, we’ve had our anomaly scan and now know the gender of our little baby, we are having a girl 💖 I am still grooming and will be for the next few months however, this job is a very hard and physical job in normal circumstances but being pregnant certainly makes it a lot harder on the body causing a lot of pain, so I am now planning to go on maternity leave earlier than originally thought, my final day will be Friday 30th September. Lots of you already know this and have booked right up until this date. I have a few remaining slots for august and not a lot left for September. If you would like an appointment please go online and book asap. Those of you who have appointments booked in October I will contact you as and when I can over the next day or two. I will also put out some recommendations for groomers in and around Melksham who I know are taking on new clients closer to the time.

I would also like to let you all know that I am going on my final holiday this weekend and will not be back in work until Tuesday the 26th July. Any calls or text messages in this time will be replied to when I am home.

Ps- I am taking longer than normal to groom a lot of dogs now so please be patient with me, I can only work as fast as my body and your dogs will let me, especially in this heat.

Good morning everyone!

Just a quick message whilst I get the chance 😊

Due to being so busy and booking up 3-4 weeks in advance I have now decided to open some Monday slots. These slots are open online to book now as 9am and 11am. This is because I am fully booked Tuesday to Fridays for the next 3 weeks and I am full on Saturdays for the rest of the year. ☺️ if you need something sooner please contact Jess at Tangles.

I would also like to announce that my self and Matt are expecting our first baby 🥰 as some of you may already know our journey has been hard but we have got to 15 weeks, don’t panic though, I am still perfectly fine and happy to groom all dogs it just may take a little longer to groom the bigger I get. 🌟

‼️I have finally got around to updating the online booking system with the price changes we did in January. I’m sure I have added pretty much all the breeds now but if I’ve missed anything off please send me a text message on 07706363253. Please do not send a Facebook message as I do not use messenger, I like everything to go directly through one platform which is my phone. My system is super easy to use, just click the ‘book now’ button where it will take you to the booking link. Now click the green highlighted ‘book now’ button and select the breed of dog you want to book (you can book multiple dogs at the same time just select the breeds and then continue to booking) once you continue you will see the calendar with all of my availability. Please note if you are booking more than one dog in at a time you will be very limited to the dates as most grooms are two hours per dog. Finally fill out your details on the following page, tick the box to receive a text reminder and I’ll confirm the booking as soon as possible.‼️

Gorgeous Willow 🥰

Unfortunately Willows ears were very matted, she doesn’t like being groomed at the best of times so for her own and my own safety the best option was to shave the ears short. I actually really love this style, the shaved ears really make the face shape.

You can tell spring is on the way, it’s been Border Terrier handstrip madness the last week or so.
