TRY treibball (pronounced tribe-ball). A rare opportunity to try this exciting canine activity.

What is treibball? Treibball is a dog activity originated in Germany and invented by the Dutch dog trainer Jan Nijboer for energetic "job-less" herding dogs.

Dogs push large exercise balls into a goal (back to handler), working at a distance from handler. This activity is based on the herding activity of herding-dogs and promotes team-work and distance control and is a low impact activity which provides a great way of physical and mental exercise.

This activity is suitable for dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds and is NOT just for herding breeds. As long as your dog likes to work, DO stuff and learn new things, try TREIBBALL.

What will you learn in this workshop?
- What treibball is about.
- That the ball is not a toy but the driving of the ball is the rewarding behaviour.
- The first steps how to teach an outrun (to a target),
- how to teach to drive (to push the ball),
- how to teach the orientation to handler (not just randomly pushing the ball all over the place).

Hoopers trainings-spots available with instructor Doro Lambert.
Thursday evenings, 8.15-9 pm, indoor arena on sand surface, Hartley Wintney area

This is a small trainings-group of no more than 4 dogs/teams. 6 weeks term costs £80. 1 trial session (£14) necessary to assess suitability for the group.

Suitable for beginners as well as dogs with first hoopers experience. Dogs need to be able to work in the presence of unfamiliar dogs and people. This group is unfortunately not suitable for reactive or challenging dogs, due to the set up at that venue.

Group would be perfect for dogs from the gundog breed group, their mixed or dogs who identify as such ;-)

Dog Activity Spot is at DBARC fun day tomorrow with a little
"Hoop-stay-lottery" game.
DBARC, RG10 0RR, Fun day open 11am - 4pm.

Pick a colour with a NO on it out of a hat, which gives you the colour of hoop and time in seconds you dog has to stay in that hoop
Most difficult hoop is red, as the furthers away and longest stay is 60 seconds. The easiest combination is Green and 5 seconds.

No, you are not allowed to glue your dog to the ground. ;-)

Give it a go, test your luck and your dog's stays and support a local rescue. I hope I see some of you there.
