You'll never get rich training dogs but you just might get messages like this:

Robbie is so relaxed now and is unbelievably affectionate towards us so I know he feels safe. With that in mind we could never realistically give up on him so he will be staying with us no matter what.

I also wanted to pass on my thanks for the support you have offered Nick. Before engaging with you I really felt we weren't going to be able to help Robbie and that really broke me. We've learnt so much from everything you have suggested

Very proud to announce that we have finished decking out our seminar facility. And our first ever event is going to be spectacular. Jordan Wilds is hosting a Protection Dog Workshop here on Sunday 29th. Jordan is the real deal, PSA qualified and a certified training decoy. Drop me a line to book a working spot or to spectate.

I was sent some videos today. So, so impressed with Laura and Timothy.

Here's what she said: Honestly, I can't thank you enough! I'm so proud of him! We still need to practice "close" more and use it further from home. He sits excited by my side until released to catch the ball, walks beautifully on the slip lead, and you were so right about us being more fun! He still stops to watch other dogs but then brings me a toy and we play tug instead. No reminders needed! ❤️❤️ From a dog that has pulled me over countless times and dragged my ex into an actual lake on more than one occasion, I think its safe to say he's come a long way

Happy International Wolf Day. Around 15,000 years ago an enterprising group of wolves and an ingenious tribe of nomadic humans came to an unspoken agreement to work cooperatively. Keep that in mind the next time you're training your dog.

It's been too long long since we were last on the water. Perfect conditions today.

I love getting these messages. For people to be proud of what they and their dog have accomplished that they let me know is a wonderful thing. Happy relaxed dog, happy relaxed owner.

I am lucky to work with some very dedicated, diligent owners who put in the hours to get the results they are looking for.

This is a little video Ben sent of the training he's doing for a competition style heel. The end goal is to stop Buster's reactivity but it will also achieve a bunch of other benefits along the way. And it is going to look really flashy in the park.

WARNING - this is a very dull video if you don't know the back story. And that's the point. No stress, no excitement. And the best testimonial I think I've ever had. So proud of what Vicki has achieved.

I am so happy to post this. Today I have been in the park with Chief off the lead for 45 minutes. He has ignored multiple dogs when I have called and diverted him and he met another dog, said a quick hello (permitted hello) then came away when I called him. He has run and sniffed and it’s an absolute joy to see. This is the fifth day of doing this with him and my confidence in both him and myself have grown enormously. We are still working on lead walking but I’m walking with a single lead now and not the waist attachment too. Thanks so much Nick for the one to one with Chief which has really helped. One proud mama 🐾

"Why you need to feed your dog a raw food diet" by Amy Marshall, a book review.

I try to avoid the topic of diet unless I'm specifically asked. I don't hold a qualification in nutrition, it tends to be the proverbial "third rail" subject, and my whole approach is to help, encourage and to develop people's skills and knowledge rather than tell people "You must do it this way" which is how the food debate can feel at times. Food choices tend be a delicate area where it is too easy to be taken the wrong way and cause offence even if the intentions are good. All that being said, I've just finished reading a book about dog food so thought I'd review it:

Amy Marshall is a blogger and educator and has compiled her knowledge into an easy-to-read guide. She cites scientific studies along with her other sources but the book is far from dry. It's also short and to the point, so is extremely approachable. It is a great starting point on why a raw or fresh diet is better for our dogs than processed / dry food, although she doesn't go into details on what a good raw or fresh diet should contain. The reader will find those details on her website primalpooch.com and instagram . So if you need convincing, then I recommend the book. If you're already persuaded by the argument then I recommend the website.

If you would like to understand more about dog food options, anyone living in the Plymouth area can start by visiting David at , he runs a dog food shop in Roborough and is a wealth of knowledge.

Best sort of message I could have got this morning:

Morning Nick and Finn, just wanted to share... we have just got back from our morning walk with the boys, met two very yappy reactive dogs in the village, boys walked calmly past and ignored on both occasions. We then stood about 6 feet away from a dog walker with two other labs and a springer having a conversation with someone else for about 5 minutes, boys just sat there and then walked off perfectly ... lovely walk with two very well behaved dogs, clearly the training is working.

Epic video of Ranger, from out-of-control terrier to relaxed engaged walking. I am in awe of owners who persevere.
