Toto has less than 3 weeks to go before taking part in the Macmillan race at York Racecourse on the 15th June.

She told us a little about why she entered and what’s been driving her…

‘On the 16th June, 2016, at only 55 years old, I lost my father to pancreatic cancer.
He was my absolute hero, and still is. During his illness, he volunteered to take part in a trial treatment, in order to help others have better chances of recovery in the future and despite its failure to restore his health, I have always been so proud of him for this.
We also sadly lost my granny in 2023 to cancer, who was an avid supporter of racing and who’s sister and brother were both jump jockeys in the mid 90’s. She would have been over the moon to see me race at York!
So in honour of my wonderful father, Charles and Granny Betty, I decided to take part in this years Macmillan Race, to try and raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer and it’s research, in hope that my small contribution can help save a life or support a family.
I’ve definitely got the two of them behind me, giving me the strength and courage to hit the Knavesmire on the 15th with a bit of confidence and determination.
This race really means a lot to me, and to my family and peers, so please try and donate if you can. It’s crazy to think just how many people are effected but cancer every year’
