We’re pleased to announce x3 new enclosures and x2 new species will be joining us very soon! 😁

Can you guess who they might be??
They’re next to our Hedgehogs 🦔 and in our ‘Natives’ area ?? 🤔

**IMPORTANT UPDATE**

❄️ WE ARE OPEN ❄️ however, due to last weeks heavy snow fall, we sustained some damage across the park and some areas are still frozen and slippery. All animals are safe and well along with our team.

What does this mean? We have not been able to rectify some of the damage or slippery areas in time for this weekends opening. The Heritage Farm will be closed this weekend for which we can only apologise but we do hope you understand that everyone's safety must come first 🐔🦆🐏🐖

Please enjoy the snow photos of some of our animals from last week 🤍

On Sunday we saw the most snow we have seen for a long time. Some of our staff were snowed in at home but some made it in and set to work along with a few staff from other departments who live close. But there was still time for a little bit of fun ❄️

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and colleagues 👏

Is this oversharing? maybe.... 🤷‍♀️

If you have visited our Heritage Conservation Farm recently you will have set your sights on this very handsome fellow... Cringle. (The sheep, not Declan)

Cringle is staying with us to spend time with our Herdwick ewes, as we hope to see the pitter patter of lamb feet in the spring. So we can find out which ewes he has spent time with he is wearing this harness with a "crayon" on to mark them. But to figure out how to fit the harness Farm Keeper Kelly practiced on Declan first!

Looking great boys!

How many of our visitors have managed to spot our latest addition? 🐒

Getting stronger by the day our White-lipped Tamarin baby is growing really well, well done to Mum Leonie and Dad Fella 🥰 and of course their dedicated keepers for taking excellent care of them.

Found in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, our visitors in 2022 helped us safeguard a piece of this rainforest the same size as our Wildlife Park! Just by purchasing animal adoptions and school workshops 🌿

Find out about adopting an animal here: https://abcwildlifepark.co.uk/our-animals/

Learning to Protect Nature

Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park is based at Askham Bryan College, York. The park is part of the college Animal Management Unit - it’s there to support students to become the next generation of conservationists, zookeepers and animal welfare specialists of the future. The park is open to the public weekends and holidays, when staff and students share their love of nature with our visitors.
