Abbey West, one of our Sheriff Hutton Vets has won a VP Nettie Award!
Congratulations, Abbey!
A £250 voucher and a Certificate are on their way to you!
Here are the reasons she was nominated;
Meaka's comments: Abbey joined Poultry Health Services in August of this year as a veterinary intern.
From the beginning, she has demonstrated remarkable dedication, team spirit, and kindness. Abbey quickly integrated into the team, including participating in a 26-mile charity hike alongside her new colleagues. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude have made her a fantastic addition to our team.
Recently, one of our vets, Aileen, experienced a serious injury—a broken leg—which could have forced her to take extended time off. Abbey went above and beyond to ensure Aileen could continue her work without hardship. Abbey:
• Personally collected and returned Aileen to and from work every day.
• Took a day off work to accompany Aileen to her hospital appointment—on her birthday, no less.
• Brought Aileen home each lunchtime so she could care for her dogs.
Abbey’s incredible generosity, thoughtfulness, and willingness to step up in a time of need reflect the true spirit of teamwork and compassion. I firmly believe her actions deserve recognition, and the Nettie Award would be a fitting acknowledgment of her exceptional character.
Ashley's comments: I would like to support the nomination for Abbey West. Abbey is a breath of fresh air she has hit the ground running and recently we had a bout of flu in the office which left only Abbey and one other Vet on duty (normally 7 Vets). Abbey just got on with all the tasks that needed to be completed without any issues making sure that if she was not sure of anything she sought advice. In addition to what she has done for Aileen, I feel that she is worthy of the award.
Aileen's comment: Abbey has been a wonderful addition to the team and I completely support this nomination for a Nettie.
She has been extremely helpful to me in particular since I had my injury. Without Abbey's help, I wouldn't have been able to attend work or get home for lunch. She went out of her way to take me to my hospital appointment on her day off for her birthday. And she was anxious to get me to my last appointment also!
Abbey is always there to lend a hand with anything that needs doing and gets stuck in wherever possible.
