Eager eaters often swallow air along with their food. Ideally, this air passes through the digestive system and is expelled as flatulence.

However, air trapped in the stomach can cause bloating. If the dog then engages in vigorous activity, the risk of the stomach flipping over and causing gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV) increases. This life-threatening condition requires emergency surgery.

A slow feeder or puzzle mat slows the eating process, reducing the air swallowed.

Dogs using slow feeders and puzzle mats must think about accessing their food. Solving the puzzle provides valuable mental stimulation and mimics natural behaviours, as dogs in the wild must work for their meals

It is a legal requirement that all domestic cats in England must be microchipped from today or their owner could face a £500 fine!

New legislation comes into force on Monday 10 June.

We had a little visitor today: 'Barry' the Bee. He seemed exhausted, so we gave him some sugar water and let him rest outside in the sun. After a short while, he perked up and flew away. 🐝✨❤️
